Sunday lunch was excellent. 1st class real ale on tap, with choice of a 3 possibly 4 ales. Had a lovely lunch and dessert. Great wholesome fare. All very good value and not rushed in any way. Very attentive and informed staff. Seem to get good local support. Very well done. Would come back again.

Spent another two weeks in the White Bears own spacious cottage to the rear of the pub. I can only say the owners Phil and Sue are a lovely couple who make you feel at home. Terrific cottages, fantastic food and a lovely atmosphere in the pub. I had lunch here everyday for the two weeks and managed to get... More

The food was very average, the starter was nice but the beef felt like it had been reheated!! Probably was! Also the vegetables were terribly overcooked. The female owner was so rude to us, she looked at all of us as if we were pieces of dirt on her shoe!! 5 paying customers should not have felt like that! She... More

On Sunday Dec 18th we stopped at the White Bear Stillington on the off chance we could get Sunday Lunch. The pub was very busy, but the landlord fitted us in. All I can say is wowzer, it was FABULOOOUS, the roast beef was to die for, the tastiest beef we have had for a very long time. Thank you... More

We had a meal at the white bear in October while we stayed at a hotel nearby and found it to be excellent. We ate on a Monday evening and so it was quiet but we were made to feel very welcome by the staff on arriving. The meal its self was a deal they were offering and the quality... More

Visited here while on holiday. It's a lovely local pub / restaurant. Great selection on the menu with a specials board to choose from as well. Also has a decent wine list. The prices are reasonable too. Devilled kidneys, spicy sausage & mushroom in tomato based sauce starter was delicious. The food was so good we actually came back later... More

Staying in Huby down the road and local pubs not serving meals Monday night so drove into Stillington. Once I'd gotten over the drive down the lonely country road in the dark lol, stopped here as looked warm and welcoming. Was not disappointed. My medium rare steak was sublime, as we're the home made onion rings (best I've tasted) and... More

Stayed one night locally in a b&b. We were recommended to eat at the white bear and we weren't disappointed. I had black pudding starter whilst my partner opted for desert instead. It was delicious!!! I chose rump steak and partner had steak & ale pie. Both were superb with home cooked chips & veg. Excellent service and very friendly... More

The Lamb Henry is to die for, and plenty of guest beers to try. A friendly village pub, with a wonderful restaurant serving good English food. Certainly worth a visit.

Called for an evening meal and was warmly welcomed by the licensees. The starter of sautéed garlic mushrooms was very good and this was followed by duck breast on a whisky marmalade sauce. Very tasty. My wife enjoyed her fish pie. It was a very pleasant experience and would recommend this place.
