This is a Nicholson pub which I find you cannot fault. The Cross Keys is a York pub we have never been in before. As lunch is served from 12:00 went for the Nicholson breakfast. this was brought to us after cooking was an exceptional breakfast. 2 for £10 was a decent price. Plenty of choice for drinks & overall... More

Me and my Mum have been here twice for food and can thoroughly recommend it! The first time we went in we both had starters and a mains, all of which was lovely. The second time, we had the nachos sharer. I can highly recommend their nachos! They are amazing! Decent selection of nice gins too :)

A great range of real ales served by an extremely pleasant and helpful bar staff who made excellent ale suggestions. Very comfortable setting with lovely interior.

Very busy pub like most pubs in York.We had food here for 8 people nothing to write home about some of it was better than others, the people having the scampi were the most disappointed having maybe 6 pieces of scampi and a handful of chips the burgers on the other hand were very good. The staff were very good... More

We booked a group of 8, had a lovely room and really lovely friendly service. All the good was cooked well and tasted good. My only complaint was some of the dishes weren't available, but it was Sunday evening and presume it has been busy . Few veggie options and no Yorkshire pud on the roast .

Breakfast options were great and two cooked breakfasts for £10 was very good value. The service was prompt and the food nice and hot. We were impressed and went back for Sunday lunch. We ordered roast dinners and after some time the waiter came and said we would have to wait around 20 minutes as they were waiting for Yorkshire... More

We stopped here for a couple of pints and a quick bite to eat. It's a Nicholson's pub, so we knew what to expect. We only had the share platter, but it was tasty and more than enough for us. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
