Had the stew with yorkshire rarebit which was good grub, nice pint too in an atmospheric environment. So no quibbles at all.

We had some delicious beers while we spent a Thursday afternoon here. We got ourselves a couple of comfortable seats and enjoyed the beers, music, staff and other patrons we shared our table with. The chicken pie was fantastic.

Visited the upstairs pub for lunch having seen the positive reviews on here. The room was surprisingly small but full of historical charm from the roof beams to the musical instruments around the room to the wall of animal trophy heads. Some are a bit...More

Great pub with a shop underneath selling Belgian German and craft beers. Quirky surroundings, always busy so may not get a seat, but worth waiting for one to be available. You can’t book tables though. Huge food portions and very reasonably priced.

I visited this unusual bar while on a work visit with my colleagues who like 'proper' beer. It is the most unusual bar I have been too. It reminded me of the pub in beauty and the beast, I could imagine Gaston stomping in at...More

This is a medieval ale house and specialist beer merchant/store. It is simply amazing, the quirky food is excellent - robust cheeseboards , pies, stews, best locally sourced ingredients and has a 5 start rating from hygiene standards. They also have some amazing holiday apartments, check out their website
