Lovely place, nice food, reasonably priced and pleasant service -mind the steps though, if unsteady on your feet don't go into the rear room.

This is a very busy cafe during summer, but it comes into its own at quieter times of the year when you can enjoy the 'Victorian' atmosphere and some rather immense scones.

I dragged my son and daughter in law to Sherlocks on the promise of a real change from the stereotypical coffee shop. They loved it, as do I. Eclectic decor, harking back to Victorian times; tables shoved into cosy nooks and crannies; and an astonishing...More

We travelled to Whitby for the afternoon today and after a few hours looking round we decided to call in for a sandwich and a drink. We chose Sherlock's as we have been there previously for cake and coffee. My husband ordered a Tuna and...More

Great coffee, excellent variety of snacks and a lovely cream team. Sherlock theme makes this stand out from all the other tea shops but isn't over the top.

Called in a tea and snack . Staff not really very interested in customers, felt a bit of an inconvenience as we waited to be served at the counter ,

Nice coffee. Friendly staff but service a bit slow after ordering. Also prices on menu a bit different from what i was actually charged.

If you are a Holmes fan this is for you. Fantastic period decor - dark and moody, a rich visual feast. Food was fine but the selling point is definitely the setting. Wonderful.

This is a beautiful tea room in Whitby. The building is amazing, a warren of nooks and crannies that wind back from the street and are candlelit. Friendly service, excellent coffe, tea and huge, delicious cakes and sandwiches. The best cafe in Whitby.
