After coming here in January with friends it was a nice surprise when I came with my husband in March to see the menu had changed. On the bottom tier there were three finger sandwiches each, then on the middle tier a mini roll and a savoury cone each. These were a nice addition to the finger sandwiches. The waitress... More

I have visited The Assembly House with my husband and 6 year old little girl. This was her first afternoon and she had a fantastic time. Slight niggles the butter is hard and difficult to spread as it's straight out of the fridge. I also don't like that a 10% discretionary service charge is added to the bill. I did... More

Treated to Mother's Day afternoon tea here. After a sticky start where it took a while for our order to be taken, everything was wonderful! My four year old was enraptured by his half size tea, with lemonade and all his favourite treats. After declaring the chocolate cake the best he had ever had, he was given another piece. We... More

I had an amazing 2 course meal with my best friend before we went to the theatre. It was great! The service was very friendly and efficient and the waiter knew his menu. The food was brought to us in good time and we were not disappointed! We ordered the same, as the menu sounded great and we couldn't decide,... More

Stopped here for lunch and we were very pleased with the food and the place itself. A very elegant room and good service to match. It isn't cheap so select carefully but worth the money.

Great service and welcome as always but the food just didn't match up.Weve had great pre theatre suppers, lunches and morning coffee so many times in the past but a great Sunday lunch seemed a step too far.My lukewarm soufflé and rock hard chips were both replaced happily by our waitress and my husbands roast replaced while I waited but his... We were early for the matinee at Norwich Theatre and thought we would have a cup of tea, and then I saw the Assembly House. The setting itself was lovely and the staff could not have been nicer. Why the poor review? We just wanted some tea, and we ordered some homemade biscuits. They have a large range of tea,... More

I was attending an auction here on 30th march with my twin babies and wife, whilst I was in the auction my wife sat down for coffee and breast fed, was asked where she'd prefer to sit. Once I had finished I met her for a coffee and the waitress brought her over a water and commented that it can... More
