It's packed and basic, but honest. We had a bottle of red £25 and 3 cheese board with pickle (£16.95) sat outside in January but it was pleasant enough and not claustrophobic like the inner area. Very old and very busy might be better in...More

For the thousands who use Villiers Street as their "rat run" and who have never stepped foot in this wonderful old wine bar, they would be greatly surprised. From the side entrance, one descends quite steep steps into the vaults which were located on the...More

Whenever I have friends visit me in London, I take them to this spot. Being underground it may smell a bit like cheese, but you can't get that vintage "in a cave" feeling anywhere else! Not to mention- the wine is amazing!

This is a lovely quirky little place. The house red was great. Gets a bit warm inside when packed, but it has a nice atmosphere. It feels like you’ve gone back in time!

First came here in 1967 and it holds many memories for me. i am sure the ghosts off past staff like Alistair and the pot collector waitress/greeter still walk the cellar. The only change I can see is the wonderful outside extension of heated seats...More

First came here over thirty years ago and hasn't changed to any noticeable degree. Not really like anything else I've ever been to. Lots of good wine at just about reasonable prices with a good selection available by the glass, 175 ml only. Food is...More

Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized
lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is
