This pub is just off Kensington High Street and is a good place to stop for a drink and a bite to eat. There is a reasonable range of pub food which is of a good standard. There is a range of beers from the standard lagers you would expect to one or two ales I ave not seen elsewhere.... More

My family and I visited this establishment for a quick drink and a small bite. We each had a few beers and split some fries and mussels. The fries were alright, but the mussels were quite briny and we quickly stopped eating them. I would recommend getting some drinks and socializing here and eating elsewhere because the menu selection left... More

Were looking for a place for a nice beer the afternoon we arrived in Kensington and found the Britannia. BEST FEATURE for sure is the leather chairs below the bar area, though it also looked perfect to watch the Rugby in front as well. Good crowd. People have complained about the service--well, sure, there was none. At least where we... More

I hesitated whether it was terrible or just poor. Terrible seems a little harsh as the food was excellent, but terrible reflects the overall experience. We had booked a table for 5:30 on a Saturday. When we arrived the waitress treated us with indifference, like we were an inconvenience. The restaurant section was empty but she said we'd have to... More

This is a place that draws you back. It was recommended to us last year and, as we had occasion to be in London again. We went for Sunday Roast this time; which we found is a traditional meal. It is a meat selection (I had chicken) with potatoes, vegetable and Yorkshire pudding. I followed with a 'brookie'. We then... More

We had a lovely family dinner with friends and both chicken and beef Sunday roast were excellent my vegetarian friend said her beetroot and goat cheese salad was very nice and salmon was excellent . Nice pub atmosphere with friendly service big hit with teenagers was the fact that the waiter wrote orders on his hand... sometimes the simplest thing... More

We booked a table yesterday for a family Sunday late lunch. I would like to thank the staff especially Evie and Josh for their wonderful, friendly customer services we received. The chicken roast and lamb was so delicious- it came a few minutes late -Evie apologetically offered us a lovely glass of wine on the house, frankly the atmosphere was... More

Over the past Four years we've visited London for meetings and always went to "The Britannia" to eat as we always found the staff and food very good but unfortunately it didn't happen this time. On February 14-02-17 Four of us visited hoping for a nice meal and good service. First we tried to get a female staff members attention... More

We had pre-booked Christmas Day lunch here as we were arriving from Australia the night before. We had to pre-pay and it was 80Pound her head. This was grossly overpriced for the food and service that we were delivered. Drinks costs were on top of this. Would not recommend the set menu at all, it read okay online but was... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
