My wife ordered the cozze and vongole as a starter and it was awful, lots of empty shells and those that were there were small and over cooked. I told the waiter and he said it was the season and blamed the chef, I responded...that they shouldn’t be in the menu of out of season. In addition we were rushed and two courses took less than an hour. Imagine her disappointment when the main course of linguine pesce arrived with exactly the same problem!!! There was no empathy at all and I will never visit this place again, still I am sure they will continue to be full, would be interested to know how many return visitors there are! I speak Italian and I would also suggest that making fun of certain guests is ill advised and was the icing on the cake!More

Went here on Saturday night it was absolutely terrible. The mussels vongole to start were average and some of the mussels were still closed. The oysters came on a already melted bed of ice and the truffle aranchini balls were dry and felt as if...they’d been sitting out. The £30 truffle pasta tasted of absolutely nothing at all we didn’t even bother eating it. The black crab ravioli was so salty I could barely eat it at all. The staff were abrupt and not friendly at all. Biggest waste of £150 ever wouldn’t ever visit again.More

Terrible service and very average food which was compounded by a total lack of respect to paying customers. When business guests attempted to pronounce the meal request in Italian it was met by derision and correction in a condescending way.

The place isn’t inexpensive for an Italian meal and whilst the food is good the portions aren’t huge. However it has a buzzy atmosphere and was full throughout the evening (I went on a Tuesday) I chose a meat dish and wished I chosen a...pasta dish instead only because the pasta looked good. I went with friends who love this place. As I said it is a costly Italian, that said the meal was not rushed and we sat for hours and relaxed - some restaurants want you out as soon as the meal is finished but this one was not like that.More

We came here with friends to celebrate my birthday, the food here is excellent it’s so tasty, everything we had was first class. The atmosphere is amazing and staff are friendly. The only thing I can complain about is it was so busy and they...tried to fit in so many people we were table of six but felt the table should of had four, they could also do with more comfortable chairs as we had to wait for a while for our food. They also charge 12.5%service charge. This restaurant is known to have a lot of famous people dine here with lots of pictures of them around the restaurant.More

We had excellent service and lovely food and wine but the day was spoiled by an aggressive individual on the table next to us who rudely asked my husband ‘who are you staring at’ when he turned round to ask the waiter for our bill....If this is the sort of clientele this restaurant attracts it is not one we want to frequent again. So rude but sadly not the proprietors faultMore

Unreal! The best Italian I have ever eaten. Had the muscles as a starter and the sauce was delicious, for the main I had the famous lobster spaghetti and it didn’t disappoint. 10/10 good & a great atmosphere.More

Dined here yesterday.. I have to say the service was amiable amusing and efficient. The only thing I didn’t like was having to open the door myself .. but the receptionist was a very slight person and may have found the two heavy doors a...bit much However on be seated Pauli and his team were exceptional and highly amusing., while food IS Italian it is tempered for tourists.. no self respecting Italian would put cream in a carbonara BUT it’s as close to a local family Italian as you will get in Knightsbridge.. the fish is exceptional.. .. good advice on wine and happy waiters with a sense of humour . I had dined here fifteen years ago yet still found it fitted the bill .. we really enjoyed ourselves regardless of how true the cuisine is a lovely atmosphere and great for a meet with old friends .. not the budget option but reasonable for a great location in London.. highly recommend.. not haute cuisine but exactly what you need to have a fun evening! Well done.. I love it .. and I’m fussy! a very buzzy room with a vibrant atmosphere and the decor suitably dated for authenticityMore

For the last 12 years we have always eaten in Signor Sassi when visiting London as its a very short walk from where we stay. We ate here on Thurs night, Id booked a table in advance so we werent walk-ins. Entering the restaurant we...were greeted by the rudest lady i think Ive ever met!!! She told us there were no tables and we had to sit upstairs on our own!! No chance I went to have a look and it was like sitting in a morg! I complained and miraculously she found us a table albeit for 2 people and we were a 3. Food ok but vvvv overpriced. Would I go back? Not sure as she was awful and really spoilt the night. The other lady used to be so lovely.More
