The food is excellent -typically Italian at the upper end in terms of quality. But it's about much more and the ambiance is excellent. Staff who are endlessly cheerful and attentive make this one of the best Italian restaurants for a relaxing but lively eating experience

Had lunch recently in a party of 5 in the most ridiculously cramped surroundings I have experienced in a restaurant anywhere. We rejected the first table on the basis that there was insufficient space between us and the adjacent table to allow the occupants of both tables to sit down simultaneously. The second table was little better situated and just... More

I went to Sale e Pepe with my fiancée. I had a lasagna - it was tasty but the portion was less than expected. My fiancée had a seafood risotto which turned out to be a good option. If it would have been cheaper I would have rated this experience with 4 stars. It was about £ 70, bread and... More

We were a group of businessmen who ate lunch here to celebrate the end of another year. The restaurant is very buzzy with tables fairly close together and quite noisy but the service, the food and the wine were outstanding. My Bresaola as a starter was exceptional, the veal chop as a main was a top quality piece of meat... More

Had a pretty good meal here in a packed restaurant that was bordering on manic. The tables are pushed together to get the maximum number of punters in to the place which in combination with ‘subdued lighting’ leads to a claustrophobic feel. We weren’t the only folk using smartphone torches to read the menu. Anyway the chefs seem to know... More

The restaurant was extremely busy and very buzzy. Prompt service and an extensive menu of traditional Italian fare. Not the cheapest restaurant in London, but to be expected given its prime loaction just behind Harrods. A lovely experience after a day's shopping in London

Great food and service. All our mains were absolutely brilliantly cooked with amazing taste. Orecchiette, Broccoli e Salsicce - simple dish but taste on par with best top restaurants in Italy where I tried the same We also tried some dishes from Truffle menu; Gnocchi with Black Truffles - wow, great truffle taste with amazing chesse sauce. Gnocci cooked to... More

Staying in Knightsbridge

Neighbourhood Profile
Knightsbridge
When millions of tourists want to shop 'til they drop, they do it along Brompton Road and its boutique-lined tributaries, including the world-renowned Harrods. And when millionaires want to flaunt what they've already got, many of them find Knightsbridge and Belgravia the perfect place to do so, often behind stately mansion walls or down quiet private mews. Delve beyond the ultra-luxe exterior and you'll find some of this city's cosiest pubs, quiet gardens, and all sorts of indie retailers and enterprises worth a short exercise in spontaneous window shopping. For those looking to take a break from shopping, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, and some of the city's most popular museums are nearby.
