We were looking for a reasonably priced Italian in London and Giotto is that. The service is good and the restaurant is nice (though lacking a little atmosphere) but the food was mediocre at best (we sent two items back). It's not bad but could be improved. My advice to the owners: dim the lights slightly, louder piano music playing... More

We picked this restaurant based on its close location to the Dominion Theatre where An American in Paris is playing. It was a great choice. My wife had the Penna alla boscaiola and I had the Spaghetti alla bolognese along with splitting a garden salad. Of the three Italian meals we had on this trip (the other two were at... More

Bank Holiday Monday is not the best night to be on the lookout for a evening meal. However, following an earlier event with friends and working our way back to the Underground, we decided to give this place a go. The two men chose Cannelloni which a good Italian restaurant should be able to deliver - and they did. All... More

Ate here while in London on holiday. Tried it as it looked like a nice little Italian spot within walking distance of our hotel. Food and service were excellent, such that we went back there for another meal later in the week. Enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere as well. Going back to London next year and we may well eat here... I had an urge to have a Calzone. The waitress (possibly owner) said they do not do them but if I ring ahead they will try and prepare one. It didn't matter my pizza was smashing as was my Wife's Carbonnara. The lady playing the piano topped it all off, and it was good VFM for Central London.

We stopped for a lunch break after seeing the advert for the lunch menu for £12.99. The meals were fine but not really special, the wine as expected just average. However, an unexpected 12% service tip turn it into an expensive lunch for this average quality! Quite disapointing.

We caught an after- theater dinner here, and it was fine. A little music and softer lighting would go a long way to up the ambiance. Pizza and wine were what we craved, and they were good.

Popped in on the off chance before a show. No booking, but no problem to the extremely attentive staff who found us a table for two. Food, prosseco coffee and grappa were excellent. Great Italian atmosphere enhanced by the pianist. Finding this little gem made the evening for us. We will definitely be back

Thank Stan H

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
