I dined at Archipelago with my niece during a recent visit to London and found it fascinating. The decor is very quirky and the menu interesting to say the least. We started by sharing the cricket salad and python carpaccio, and they were both delicious....More

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday. I wanted it to be special, exciting, different but not too expensive or pretentious. It met every single expectation and more. We had tasty exciting food including crocodile and ostrich - I'm a pescatarian and was still blown...More

I visited the restaurant a couple of months ago, with a couple of friends I recommended it to, because I'd been there several times a years ago. I'd always had totally positive experiences here. This time, it was plainly disappointing. Food: The menu seems to...More

This restaurant is small and intimate, unusual and surprising from the first. Even the reservation was strange - we were given a password! The décor is eclectic, busy and wonderful; peacock feathers, Egyptian papyri, hats, masks, Buddhas, navigational implements, fans etc. The staff are friendly,...More

I was on a date and my friend decided to bring me to Archipelago. The place has a lot of atmosphere, with little touches that make the experience really special. The drinks menu was inside a bottle with sand, the dessert menu was inside an...More

We visited for my birthday and what a unique experience it was. Between us we tasted python, kangaroo, bee, zebra, alpaca and crocodile. We enjoyed the experience together with the atmosphere and the ornaments. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Description
If Archipelago were a film it would definitely be one of the Indiana Jones series. First, the menu features all manner of exotic beasties - locusts, zebra, crocodile and second the decor is an exotic mix of golden buddhas, dwarf palms and giant peacock feathers. The staff will talk you through each dish, but there's also chicken, fish, lamb and extensive vegetarian options. It's a great night out for the more adventurous - or if you happen to be having Ray Mears to stay.
