We had a pre-theater dinner here, prior to Classical Spectacular at the Royal Albert Hall. (walking distance) They got us in and out under a time constraint but that wasnt the most impressive part. My daughter is not only gluten intolerance, but also dairy intolerant. They brought her a basket of her own GF/DF breads and homemade crackers, but also... More

The surroundings, service and food were very good for our visit. It was a pity that we were the only diners in the restaurant - which was surprising for a Thursday evening. My wife is coelliac and gluten free bread is often unpleasant. Not here where a wonderful selection of gluten free bread was provided. Amuse bouches were appreciated. The... More

I took a lady friend to supper at Chenestons in the Milestone prior to going to the Royal Albert Hall The atmosphere and feel of the bar and restaurant were fabulous Old England. The bar and restaurant staff were absolutely brilliant, and our cocktails excellent But oh dear, the food ! We had whetted our appetites from the sample menu... More

Dear Malcolm C Thank you for taking the time to leave your review although I was terribly disappointed to read that we didn't quite meet your expectations. I am indeed really proud of my team here and believe it is very much down to having the right people in place that makes an ordinary occasion an exceptional one. I am... More

It was late on a Monday evening in January so we practically had the restaurant to ourselves. We were delighted to be offered "English" dishes on the menu (why do most London hotels insist on serving foreign dishes?) and the wine list was both extensive and sensibly priced. Service was impeccable, food very good and also well priced, considering all... More

Many thanks for your very positive feedback and we're pleased you enjoyed the experience. We do strive to offer modern British cuisine which will satisfy all our guests and I'm pleased that we were able to do so on this occasion. I've noted your thoughts on the 'discretionary service charge' and we will certainly take it under advisement. We have... More

I've been always curious about the Cheneston's for years whenever I passed by the Milestone Hotel. For anniversary dinner, I decided to dine here. Its interior and decor are like from Victorian ear and all preparation was done in such a way that one might have felt like slipping back to the era. Unique menu and fine selection of beverage... The Cheneston's is the restaurant of the wonderful Milestone Hotel. As you enter the hotel, woodwork and decor give the impression of going back in time and indicate you will have great time there. We went there for dinner and choose the menu proposed for the London Restaurant Festival week. All the meals were excellent and well presented. We were... More

I had a nice 6-course meal at the Cheneston's during my stay in London. I asked on the spot if they could accommodate my gluten free needs and they did it--with the bread, the side dishes and the dessert. I also love that they have the old-school finger brush in the ladies room.

We stayed at the Milestone Hotel (which clearly deserves its five stars) and out of exhaustion, ate at the Cheneston, instead of venturing out to explore the neighborhood as we usually do.
