It's a massive shame that the service was so poor and borderline rude as the food was incredibly delicious. We had a Valentine's Day booking and two hour slot, but they treated us like cattle and rushed us through our courses to make sure they could get us out and try to make more money... oh, and added their service... Great authentic atmosphere felt as soon as we walked in, the waiting staff were lovely and attentive. I visited with my mum and sister whilst on a mini weekend break, we all ordered different food choices but each option was equally great. All loved the food and atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!

I didn't find this a gem of a place, certainly have had better Thai food. Ordered the prawn green curry, the curry did taste very good, although it was a thicker consistency to what I have had or am accustomed to. The prawns were fried in a batter, still in the shell and placed on top. If the cutlery was... More

The food was tasty and nicely presented, the service was good, the decoration very unique and the price quite reasonable. What else can you ask for?

Last night my husband and I took a good friend to this gorgeous little restaurant. It's pretty hidden away and it really does feel like one of those secret little places in London you don't normally get to hear about. Delicious and very authentic food. Beautifully presented. Service was fab. They couldn't have been more helpful. Great for a date... More

Things got off to a bad start when I arrived to find that - despite phoning to book a table several days in advance - there was no record of my booking on their computer. The manager did not apologise for this - even when I showed him my phone call log to prove I had called - and gave... More

My only regret about this place is that my partner and I had had one too many beverages before turning up so I feel we didn't taste the food as properly as it deserves! Everything was just gorgeous though and so full of flavour. We loved that you had to knock on the door to enter as well. Feels like... More

We found this restaurant on the Taste Card and were very pleasantly surprised. We had starters and mains and both were great. The vegetarian green curry was particularly good. Service was friendly and efficient even though the restaurant was full. I would call ahead to book as there weren't any tables free for most of the evening. My only complaint... More

One of the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. The 'manager' Zeq had a disgraceful attitude when taking the order. He rushed taking the order and did not recommend anything. He was rude and abrupt and made us feel un welcomed. The food was actually reasonable but a tad over priced. The manager (probably owner) needs some training.... More

I booked a table at Champor Champor for my boyfriends birthday as we have visited many times before and not been disappointed. When we arrived we were taken to the table on the mezzanine (nice and romantic). We ordered starters and mains which arrived promptly. Whilst waiting for the starters we got some complimentary banana bread which was a nice... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
