Love this place, super welcoming and incredibly good value. Irene gets to know her customers from sitting and chatting with us after my first visit and openly teasing me after my fourth or fifth. Great date place or BYOB makes it a fun place to have a few drinks before a night out

This little gem had been going for many years with the greasy spoon cafe turning into mama Irene's kitchen at night, she may not be the fastest cook but her dishes are very authentic (and therefor pretty Thai spicy- remember to ask for mild if ur not a chill fan as the phad Thai can be mouth burning). I love... More

Went to lennie's all the time, well, every now and again - fantastic Thai food homestyle, Big portions great flavours a lot of spice. Bring your own, East London weird and fantastic value. But went at Christmas and had quite a bad experience, with appalling service and a rude waiter, I don't think we'll go back which is a real... More

The perfect place to spend a Sunday morning with a sausage sandwich and a cup of tea (or coffee) for £2. It's a bit rough around the edges - and there is a noticeable number of naked portrait paintings on the wall - but it's very welcoming and the atmosphere is great. Well worth a visit.

What a very special little place. Lennie's looks like a very small cafe which most people would miss if driving past. It is a wonderful place with excellent food which is prepared by the owner. The food is devine with so any flavours and aroma's. A definate must.

Staying in Shoreditch

Neighbourhood Profile
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighbourhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbour can result in fascinating outcomes.
