We still alternate between The Balconies and here. Apart from the location, there is little to choose between the two restaurants and in high summer, you can eat outside pre-performance, though it will is too chilly for the interval

We have visited the ROH on a number of occasions but never eaten at the two restaurants available. The system is you pre-book the food and you can eat before the production and during the intervals. A good idea albeit quite a long walk from the stalls to the restaurant during the interval. I wasn't expecting much but I was... More

We have eaten in this Restaurant on a number of previous occasions when attending The Royal Opera House and love it. It makes attending the Opera all the more special. We did not preorder our food as some diners had done but this did not hold the food up at all. The staff work extremely hard to make sure everyone... More

Three courses of perfectly edible food, but not what I would class as restaurant standard, really bistro at best. Starter of chicory red onion and blue cheese was pleasant but pretty underwhelming (these sorts of salads can easily be fabulous) in terms of taste and presentation. The main of rib eye and spinach was a similarly disappointing, a dollop of... More

A couple of days after Christmas my family lunched here, including our granddaughter on her first-ever ballet the Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House. We had hors d'oeuvres and main courses before the ballet and came back for pudding and coffee during the interval at the same table which is reserved - a very good arrangement. They offer 2- and... If you cannot get a reservation at the Paul Hamlyn Balconies restaurant, you should not be tempted here as it is a very poor alternative. The design, effectively a mirror lined dance studio, is very unpleasant and the harsh lighting makes it worse. The staff confused our order which with time constraints was annoying, but we did not complain! The adjacent... More

My wife and I very much enjoy our dinners here. The food is nice, the staff always helpful and friendly, and the environment very upbeat!

When I got a ticket to La Filles mal gardee I thought I would treat myself and do the full experience, and booked a table for before the ballet. I chose this restaurant as I liked the menu. Me, a planner, also liked that I received an email asking if I would preorder my meal before my stay, so I... More

We're not sure why this restaurant has attracted some recent negative reviews. We've been using it each time we visit the Opera House and have never had any complaints. The setting and decor makes it preferable to the more expensive Balcony restaurant and the Crush Room is like dining in a corridor. In our experience the service has always been... More
