Whenever we go to London we book a table at the Wolseley as soon as we have the plane ticket. It is a must.

You cannot miss the Wolseley in Piccadilly, once inside it has a very Art Deco feeling and decor to match, always busy and buzzy. If you like spotting well known faces then you can't go wrong there. I have visited a number of times and...More

The Wolseley was recommended to us for having Afternoon Tea in London. The building and the decor is beautiful but the amount of people they cram in makes you feel like you are in the middle of a beehive or at a station concourse. Service...More

Is staff accommodating in terms of allowing couples to split one order of afternoon tea? From other reviews I've read, it appears that the amount of food can be too much for one person, but just right for a couple.

I don't see why they wouldn't. Although if it's charged per person and they see both of you eating they'll x2 your bill I'd suspect, after all they are a business.

I agree smart casual is OK. There are some very smartly dressed people. I went for a late supper after the theatre. If you are lucky you might even spot the odd celebrity.
