I'm sorry to say that this was the worst Indian food I have experienced. In fairness, the food was better when I went to the restaurant (compared to delivery this time) but it can't have changed that much in the five minutes it takes to get to our house. The food was lacking in flavour and contained way too much... More

Unfortunately the dishes are too oily, the paratha is too thick and nothing as a a paratha should be, and the vegetable side dishes have too many onions. The seats are uncomfortable and the picture frames are hung too low and protrude out so one hits their head on the edges if leaning on the back of the chair. I... More

I was very disappointed. We ordered three currys and some sides through Deliveroo. When they arrived they were cold and more disappointingly, the portion sizes were tiny. The take away containers were barely half full, so basically we paid full price for a half portion, not enough to share and bad value for money. The naan was dry and cold... More

The food in Malabar is excellent - not too heavy, or greasy or overly creamy. Portion sizes are good. Tastes are clean and fragrant. Nothing is overly spiced - unless you ask for this. The flavours of good, fresh ingredients come through clearly. The waiters are charming. There are several dining areas which means it is always cosy. The only... More

I returned to Malabar Restaurant after a number of years. The high standards endure to give a fine dining experience and such tasty food. The salads could not be fresher. The staff are very friendly. Everywhere is clean and sharp and the decor still cuts a contemporary aesthetic.

I've been here a few times, and love this place. It is the best indian food I've had and really well presented, and a charming neat restaurant tucked behind Notting Hill tube in a nice quiet street. We usually end up sharing a variety of small dishes like five lentil daal, spinach, aubergine etc off the back of the menu,... More

Delicious food! Amazing place, modern but sober and classy. The food was too good!!! I reccomend the Dal soup and King Prawns from the Tandoor. We really enjoyed the dinner...nice atmosphere, calm and relaxing. I will for sure come back!!! This is the perfect place if you want to taste the real Indian food. I would like to thank all... Though the setting looked nice I thought the food was poor, the sauce was watery and the portion sizes were tiny, we got 1 poppadom each when usually it's a few and the mint sauce was sour rather than sweet and creamy. The metal plates were weird and you they didn't even serve onion bhajis so had to settle for... More

I've been eating here regularly since the mid 1990's and it rarely disappoints. Start with Devilled Kaleja (sizzling chicken livers marinated in yoghurt with onions) to share - a must. Then always a decent curry be it monkfish, prawn, mutton / lamb or chicken. Can be a bit cosy and tables are close together but its a fun atmosphere with... More

In a quiet street but two minutes from the busy heart of Notting Hill, the Malabar was a delightful refreshing place to conclude an exploration of this part of London. Modern, airy decor yet small enough for an intimate supper......prompt friendly service, and best of all, delicious food with clearly defined flavours enhanced by careful and distinctive spices. A must... More
