Just happened upon this restaurant after a long flight from the states. The specials were amazing, wonderful wine selection, and the atmosphere was very welcoming.

We recently went and were highly disappointed. This was a regular restaurant for us where we always had good creative food. Our last meal was very disappointing. The aubergine was too salty to eat and the cod was tasteless and poorly presented. Whatever happened to...More

Second time I’ve been here and I don’t think the menu has changed since my first visit - but that’s fine as the food is excellent and plentiful. It’s nice to experience simple food done really well rather than fancy food done badly. Dinner for...More

My wife and I enjoyed an intimate dinner for two at Abingdon. With a warm reception we were seated to a linen candle lit table. Starting with a tasty Prosecco our waiter Adam guided us through the menu. Pork belly and pork chops to die...More

Only 1 vegetarian main option which is disappointing. Especially when it's celeriac :( However, the roast broccoli side dish is delicious.

Unpretentious location off the main drag, worth checking out. Friendly and helpful staff, excellent food, The restaurant has the feel of a dining car in an old fashioned railway coach and non the worse for that, giving us a comfortable private location for dinner. Excellent...More

I met a friend for weekday lunch at the Abingdon. It's a corner site, tucked 2 minutes walk from Kensington High Street, and convenient for the Design Museum (also well worth a visit) and Holland Park. There are three distinct areas - a bar space,...More

Wow this place has some of the worst decor I have seen in a restaurant for ages. Pretty shocking given the prices and chi chi location. Think sofa cushions from a P&O ferry and bar stools from a 1990s Barrett show home. Add this to...More

South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque
white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's
easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with
superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and
Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely
child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to
mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall)
such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming

The eating area can be sectioned off I believe and it is an ideal wedding venue. Regrettably the facilities are in a basement down stairs, Hope this helps.

I don't remember seeing a child's menu. That said, we were 4 adults with a late dinner reservation and our biggest concern was that it took almost an hour for wine to be served and then even more time for the martini's... More
