Really friendly & informal restaurant providing small menu of well prepared food served quickly. We had a burger and a steak and shared sides of chips and creamed spinach - all delicious and very good value for central London. Would definitely come again.

I came here the other night for a meal before going to see The Prince of Egypt at the Dominion theatre due to its closeness to the theatre. I wouldn’t have come here otherwise as the only item on the menu (other than the special)...is steak (the special that night was a spicy burger with jalapeños, and I hate anything spicy so I chose the steak), and although I like steak, I do like a choice of meals to choose from. They don’t offer starters or dessert, but you do get a mug of popcorn upon arrival, and a free salted caramel ice cream in a waffle cone upon leaving (the ice cream in particular was to die for!). The steak is £12, and you add sides and sauces yourself at an extra cost. Sauces are £1 each. I chose the bernaise sauce, which was lovely, and came in a little pot so you could dip your steak into it (or pour it over your steak if you prefer). I was going to order the beef dripping chips, but unfortunately, they weren’t available that night, so I chose the garlic mash instead, which was absolutely delicious - lovely and creamy. Although I couldn’t really taste the garlic. It could definitely have done with more garlic, but it was still very tasty. The mash cost £3. The service was very friendly, and knowledgeable about the food. They explain the menu, including the specials, before you order. A negative is the optional charges they add to the bill - a 12.5% optional service charge, and a 10p optional donation for something (I haven’t a clue what!). It’s wrong of places to do this as they know most people, myself included, won’t feel comfortable asking for it to be removed. They don’t even ask you if you’re happy for those charges to be added, they just bring you your bill with those charges on it (they’d have to bring you a new bill if you asked for those optional charges to be removed, of course). It’s for this reason I won’t be back, I’m afraid. A shame, as the food was lovely, but I strongly disagree with this unfair practice. It’s not right.More

This place! The food was unbelievable. When you first walk in, you are given a quirky cup of beef dripping popcorn (which is to die for!). We then ordered a steak each, with sides to share. We opted for the creamed spinach, bone marrow mash,...aubergine with mozzarella and tomato, and fries. All of the sides were delicious and the steak was beautiful. We also had a caipirinha cocktail which tasted exactly like they do in Brazil! Along with the bill, they hand you the cutest little cleaver charms to be exchanged for a salted caramel ice cream cone as you leave. Honestly cannot fault it; great food, reasonably priced, great service and loved the uniqueness. HIGHLY recommend!!!More

We were really looking forward to eating here given all the positive reviews but in all honestly, we left feeling fairly disappointed and wouldn't rush back. Positives - staff were nice and service was efficient, nice decor and easy to make a booking. My partner...loved his aubergine main. Good central location for various theatres in the area. Negatives - all the rest of the food was incredibly salty - perhaps forgivable for the chips but ridiculous for the steak and spinach sides. Not a big thing but a bit of a shame that the first couple of drinks we tried to order weren't available. Lastly, thought it was cheeky to add a 12% service charge. We aren't in the US - this should be built into the price. Similarly the 10p 'optional' donations on the mains - I appreciate the company will argue these are optional but in practice they know people aren't going to want to ask for them to be removed. If a company want to donate to a cause they should do this themselves - at the least make it very clear to customers where their donations are going. Contributing to a 'Flat Iron Fund' could mean anything and had to be looked up separately.More

Great food, we visited here twice on our trip to London and loved it both times! Couldn’t recommend this place enough, the character of the restaurant and the service from the staff is 5/5! Love the free ice cream and popcorn!

This place is unreal! Great vibe inside and even better food. Surprising what good value it is with a Steak being only £12! I had a passion fruit and vanilla drink that was so tasty. Popcorn on entry and ice-cream on exit - what’s not...to like? Wiktoria was brilliant - chatty and friendly and made some great recommendations. Will be coming back!!More

Had heard good things about Flat Iron- my friend and I were in the area and decided to check it out. The welcome we received upon arrival was very warm and friendly, and felt very genuine. The team member that sat us down was equally...as friendly and the staff seemed to really enjoy their job! We were immediately given popcorn and water at the table. The restaurant itself is very rustic, with exposed brickwork, wooden beams and indoor plants. Gorgeous. The menu is very concise but is well thought out and feels truly independent, with a focus on quality. The range of sides is very good. I opted for the bavette steak with a side of basil, tomato and mozzarella aubergines. My friend went for the steak sandwich with chips. Food arrived quickly. The steak was up there with one of the best I’ve had, and the side was delicious. My friend also thoroughly enjoyed her meal and we both commented that it was excellent value. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and very incredibly friendly and efficient. When receiving the bill, we were given a token to get free ice cream on the way out- a really lovely touch! I was so impressed not only with the food, but with the incredibly hospitable service. The most I have enjoyed a meal out in a while. I will be back!More

Our daughter was desperate to go here due to us previously eating at the Soho one many years ago. We booked online and was lucky to get a reservation the day before. We were shown to our table and given the dripping popcorn in the...metal cup. We ordered are drinks and also we were brought a bottle of water. We all had the flat iron steaks with dripping chips, we also order creamy spinach and the salad. The steaks were all cooked perfect and the service was spot on. When we had paid we were given a card with 3 little knives tokens which you exchange for the free ice cream cone you leave which is a great touch. Had a fantastic meal with great service. We went at 4.30 so it was quite quiet. The restaurant isn’t very big so I would advise to book early. Highly recommend.More

This was a return visit with our 3 x 18 year old sons. They absolutely love it here as do we. Food is excellent. The sides are just wonderful. Oh that garlic mash! Staff are fantastic, attentive and to the perfect degree. Lovely free ice...cream on the way out. Salted caramel was delicious. Great value too. Worth every penny.More
