I would recommend if you are a fan of steak (or even if you're not!) The steak is really good and I'm not a big meat eater. It's a nice restaurant, but nothing particularly special. The service is okay. It's expensive, but worth it. One thing I must say is as we made a reservation, we received a follow up... More

I took my parents here for lunch on Easter Sunday. I'd been to another branch 5 years ago but was left wondering why I've not been back in between. The atmosphere was 'buzzy' - just the right side of noisy - without being rowdy or unpleasant. We all had the roast, which was excellent. The meat was tender, the roast... More

Expensive! My wife steak was OK but mine had a line of sinew running through it and when I pointed the out that this part was inedible, the waiter said it was part of the "flavour". Fat may add to the flavour but sinew does not, and as I was paying over £30 for the steak I felt that it... More

We started with insanely good Cocktails in the bar downstairs...served by Nic 'The Greek'. He was a master of his craft and the friendliest barman we've ever met! Followed by one of the best meals we've ever had with matching service to boot. 5 stars all round. Get yourselves there.

I have been waiting for ages to have Sunday Lunch at Hawksmoor (Due to family commitments etc etc) and finally during half term (as I hadn't been to the Spitalfields branch yet) I managed to book and eat there. All I can say is that this is the type of meal that stays in your mind days after you had... More

Amazing steak as always literally one of our favourite restaurants! The staff were lovely and made us feel special with it being my boyfriends 30th celebrations! We have booked to go again before we leave London!!

I had rib eye and sirloin to share with my dad, steak was great but just couldn't help think it wasn't as good as Gauchos. It felt more of a proper place to eat, rather than a homage to steak which is what I was after.

I recently had the pleasure of having a business lunch at Spitifields. The food was fantastic, the Tamworth Rib to start (highly recommended) Ribeye for main withe a couple of sides. Always good service and a nice ambience. I would recommend this and any Hawksmoor.

Visited for a special meal and it was brilliant. Certainly not cheap, but excellent food and a lovely atmosphere - really friendly staff. A real mix of people and a great relaxed vibe. Visit on a Monday and you can BYOB for a £5 corkage fee which makes the meal a lot more reasonable. I had a really special evening... More

This Spitalfields steakhouse has wooed much of London since opening in 2006; word-of-blog has only served to create an even bigger buzz around the restaurant and its food. A case of the emperor's new clothes? We think no.' Time Out

Spitalfields was our first restaurant, and the general view is that it is where the 'Hawksmoor spirit' is best embodied - many of the staff have worked there for years and would never consider elsewhere. Great steaks, great drinks and an amazing atmosphere, full of people who desperately care whether you enjoy your evening.

We are located just down the road from our namesake Nicholas Hawksmoor's Christ Church Spitalfields and 10 minutes walk from Liverpool Street, Old Street and Aldgate stations.

It can accommodate 115 people for exclusive hire and the back section of the restaurant is ideal for groups of up to 55. The restaurant can be hired exclusively for a meat-fuelled party, corporate function and wedding receptions.

Staying in Spitalfields

Neighbourhood Profile
For a glimpse of Georgian and Victorian London at its most pristine, or a peek into what's apt to be the next big global trend, the hipster zone of Spitalfields can provide hours of amazement. Around the clock, this is a haven for early morning bargain hunters sizing up its street markets, foodie foragers throughout the day, or late night revelers hitting some of London's most popular bars and clubs.

Wedged between the business-minded City of London, expressly trendy Shoreditch, and zestful Whitechapel, the lines between traditional and contemporary beautifully blur in this historic East End nexus.
