Had a good catch up with a few old friends here at lunchtime. The beer and the service was exceptional. The food was good with a variety of choices. It had a classic beer hall feel but the clientele was very mixed (not just groups of men) and there was a good atmosphere.

That's what my wife said as we tucked into Rotisserie Chicken with Stoemp mash and Beer & Beef Dripping gravy.....which was so rich and full of flavour. It clearly brought back memories of a birthday trip to Bruges she had so authentic Belgian flavours score high here. We had the star menu which was three courses plus a beer, wine... More

The traditional mussels/fries are lovely... big portion for a very reasonable price! Rather quick service too!

Interesting place, quite quirky, good service and great range of beers. We had mussels and haddock, both of which we thought were average, not blown away!

My first visit to Belgo. Which I have heard a lot about. The service was great as was the wine however the menu was very limited for veggies. Al be it that is not what Belgo is about it is nice to have a better option. Rest of the party enjoyed their food however was a slight wait for it... More

Being a Belgian i am biased. The grub was ok. Mussels were no where near as we have them in Belgium... but good enough. The fish of my partner was underseasoned but again... good enough. The waitress was eastern european -no problem with that- but her English was so bad we had to ask her to repeat everything. Also her... More

I booked this restaurant a while ago as my fiancé and I were booked to go and see Matilda. When we got there was very busy, and a very popular restaurant. We went downstairs to be greeted by a lovely lady, who was our server too. We were put on the restaurant side which was fine and not too noisy.... More

We went here as they would be able to take larger groups which was true. A nice surrounding in the basement of an old industrial plot. We choose the beer garden (I even think the restaurant area was closed that Tuesday night) which was however quite noisy. Not a lot of space around and on the tables. Personell were mostly... More

The mussels were right on point. The beer was great, and the service was friendly and fast. Wonderful funky atmosphere is a welcome retreat from the English pubs.

Description
Set in a former warehouse in Covent Garden, Belgo Centraal's staircase descends into a Beer Hall with long refectory tables waited on by staff in Trappist monk outfits and head sets. But this is no silent order; it's bustling and noisy with many customers tucking into steaming bowls of mussels in a variety of broths and platters. There are also two main dining rooms and a selection of more intimate dining booths. Seeking something substantial? The stews include Moules Blanches cooked in Bruges beer with smoked bacon, all served with frites. From the Rotisserie, choose from beer basted spit roast Belgian chicken or duck, or peruse the extensive main menu which includes the veggie-friendly Artichoke stuffed with Wild Mushrooms, Asparagus and Pine Nuts. Of course, there are over 50 Belgian beers to taste, including Fruit Beers in varieties such as cherry or banana!
