Visited here with a party of 19. Great place for large groups. The chefs put on a great show, its real theatre. Food was well cooked and tasted delicious. Everyone had a great time and the atmosphere in the restaurant was great. Drinks selection of wine and Saki was superb. Would recommend.

Great tricks from the Chef, however there was no enthusiasm or interaction with the guests at our table. The food? Below average, we got the steak and chicken combo, seasoned with only salt and pepper = bland and the meat was very chewy. Atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant was lovely. Would I go back or recommend? Unfortunately not.

Great experience, yummy food and pretty good service. Shame the ice cream took 20 minutes to arrive as the eating pace was much faster.

We opted for the 6 course £30 meal. The service was very good, and our chef was entertaining though not as much as the one near by. The food was standard, good but not wow. Nice selection of sake on the menu. I think for £25 per head you would be getting great value for money but £30 per head... More

If you are American and you except "white sauce" at hibachi restaurants then you will and let down. Besides that the food is good the staff is fine as well. Make reservations especially for later in the evening.

The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We took a birthday cake with us and the staff brought it out when we were ready and sang happy birthday. My reason for the 3 stars is that we booked via Lastminute.com for a 6 course set menu at £29.99 a head. We were splitting the bill and it was... More

Simple but decent quality basic ingredients cooked with flair and fun at this unusual and engaging dining experience. My daughter was mesmerised and tried more foods than I can ever recall her doing before because she was so enthused by the show and the cooking display by our adorable 'nothing too much trouble' chef Benjo who even cooked her two... Having had a fair amount of Japanese cuisine before, I thought the Food at Benihana left much to be desired. I had Seafood, the calamari were overcooked and tough and the prawns and scallops were bland. I would recommend this restaurant if you want a show and a meal. Don't go there with a headache and don't go there if... More

Me and my girlfriend visited this restaurant for a meal before a comedy show on Saturday 22nd October. The chef cooking in front of you and putting on a show was entertaining and the food was so delicious, we couldn't of asked for more. I will say it is a little pricey but I guess the location and the novelty... More

Elegant Japanese styling and delicious fresh food await you at London's Benihana Restaurant. Benihana is a favourite not only of tourists but of locals fresh from the nearby offices, relaxing with colleagues or indeed entertaining clients. In keeping with the Benihana brand the chain began in New York way back in 1964, this means that this year, 2014 is our 50th anniversary. This superb Japanese restaurant swaps the conventional kitchen for a central hibachi grill around which diners watch their food being prepared before their eyes. Boasting a wide range of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes traditionally cooked Benihana offers a unique Japanese dining experience not to be missed.

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
