As a regular customer the the nearby hospital, we've also been fans of this cafe/restaurant. It seems the busyness of the place has created an atmosphere where the owner doesn't care if that particular customer stays or leaves. In the past month we've popped in quite a few times and most times been greeted with the same attitude. Whilst the... More

The perfect combination. French and Italian love of food, imagination, excellent skills, and a lovely friendly team of staff. We went for Saturday brunch. The stuffed baby squid was delicious and beautifully presented. The brandade de morue was delicate and full of flavour at the same time. A good and not overpriced wine selection..... Yes. We'll be back.

I had a meal with a bunch of friends at Gourmandina on Lambs Conduit last night... wonderful... the food was excellent - I can personally recommend the pappardelle lamb dish - beautiful, and my mates all loved their choices too... Brilliant.

Delightful cafe, quite small but worth the squeeze. I think it is possible to reserve a table but we walked in and found a place to sit. The baguettes are amazing and come accompanied by wonderful ''salad'' choices (grain and ham/cous cos and cheese etc). They also have yummy looking savoury tarts and filled galettes. It is very French in... More

I have visited La Gourmandina several times, for personal and business dinners. The quality of the food and service has been excellent every single time. The food is a good mix of Italian and French cuisines. During the last visit, my friend and I shared the La Panelle; the chickpea bread just melted in my mouth. We had the pan... More

I popped in for a quick lunch only to be confronted by rudest french waitress I have ever met. I politely asked for a glass of water and boy was that not received well, interrupting me to tell me how busy she was before I had even finished my sentence. She purposefully then ignored me for next ten minutes and... More

I went with a friend on a wet Wednesday evening not really knowing what to expect. From the outside you see a little Italian deli, but what you don't see is the large room at the back. Now, this room isn't going to float everyone's boat as it is quite bare, almost stark and the floor needs a bit of... More

Walked through the back room - large, central wooden table perfect for a groups of 8-12, with smaller side tables around the edges of the room. Decor mainly wood and wine bottles. Clubby atmosphere, not in a clique-y way, but relaxed vibe. We only stopped for a cup of tea and a coffee, both refreshing and excellent. Makes me want... More

At first glance it looks like your standard high end Italian deli however through the back there is a delightful dining room serving some of the most authentic food I have had in London. The menu is small but perfectly formed, my family shared all our dishes and none of them fell short of fantastic. I would highly recommend the... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
