It hasn't been open long and you wont recognize it compared to it's old style....it has been completely revamped. It's a really nice place now, nice eating area, and the outdoor area, is like a big roof top terrace and very nice, admittedly not great views over Catford Bridge Station! Decent range of beers if not superb and a little... More

We came few weeks after launching this brand new tavern, both decided to order mushroom burger with fries on side just to received the ugliest burger we ever eaten. Mushrooms were mashed and tasteless, the olive tapenade mixed with the mashy mushroom (I called this Mashroom) and was completely impossible to be recognised. We found 2 slices of tomato with... We were looking forward for the Catford Tavern to be reopened in the neighbourhood and I must say it really met our expectations. Food is great, one of the tastiest burgers I had, staff is very nice, the girl who served us had a big smile on her face all the time, which really makes a difference. The pub is... More

This was a find thanks to Tripadvisor. The pop up restaurant which is due to move to the Catford Constitutional Club close by was a revelation for this suburb of London. The menu was imaginative, the ingredients well sourced and the cooking excellent. Deserts were outstanding - e.g. Gin and tonic, ginger and peanut butter sorbets (all very tasty !)The... More

Not the first time we've been here and hoping it won't be the last. Everything about it is good. Food made to your own particular like is no problem. Really friendly staff. In the process of being taken over by a pub chain, so we will wait and see what happens there!

Had a brilliant meal here. Service cannot be faulted. Quality of menu choice and food outstanding. Put that together with a fantastic range of beautiful beers and a good atmosphere. It would seem that this pub may close or be taken over by another chain, l hope this doesn't happen, it would be a great loss to Catford and the... More

This is a popular pub with a good range of well-kept ales and the food is excellent. (I wouldn't call it a gastropub because people who just want to drink are welcomed and not pushed into a corner as if they're an inconvenience.) I gather it's about to change ownership, so I sincerely hope the new owners don't ruin it.

CAMRA’s South East London pub 2013 and one of the UK’s Top 150 Local Real Ale Pubs, the Catford Bridge Tavern looks – on the outside – like a Tudor-style country mansion that might be better placed by some rural village green, with the sound of cricket balls clacking on wood and birds tweeting… Fortunately for Catfordians it’s slap bang... Went here for dinner and then stayed to play the quiz. Really lovely pub, good atmosphere, nice food - finally somewhere decent to go in Catford!

Overall this gastropub is good. Pity about the lack of vegetarian options. Rather boisterous crowd present yet the open plan layout works well. Worth a visit. Check the specials.
