Wonderful "below stairs" cocktail bar. Don't come if you haven't a reservation! Great to watch the bar staff at work, they really are skilled. Fantastic cocktails and surprisingly tasty tapas style food. Definitely worth a visit!

We had a beautiful evening in the Nightjar. The cocktails and the live music was available. The prices were a litle bit high but the quality of the cocktails balanced it. I just recommend it!

If you've ever been to a speakeasy, then you're familiar with their exclusiveness, dim lighting, live music, close quarters and fancy cocktails. Nightjar is no exception, but what makes it fun are the unique cocktails in quirky glasses with experimental recipes. I highly suggest reservations as they take their attendance pretty seriously, but be warned - you're going to be... More

We visited here early on a Sunday and it was fairly quiet however service was quite slow. The cocktails are fabulous and I understand that they take a while to make but there were a couple of times we were sat without drinks for 15-20 minutes and no one took our order (when there were about 6 tables and 3... If you are around and you can be nice with the bouncers, you don't even have to book. These guys not just beyond professional, but you can tell they want you to be there for their reputation. Highly appreciated knowledge and guest relations from every member of stuff. And live music with the old style easy-speaking atmosphere.

It is a very good bar. Drinks with very high quality and design are served however this bar has strict rules for example photos are not allowed in the bar and the staff is very serious.

Friendly service, romantic, live music, excellent ambience - highly recommend. The cocktails are custom made and full of flavour. Slight criticism was the service can be slow, limited mocktail options and there were additional charges on top of the relatively pricey (albeit worth it) cocktails.

At Nightjar you get outstanding cocktails, friendly service, and an intimate stage with great acoustics....the result is a perfect place to listen to jazz. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely return.

Really enjoyed my experience at Nightjar. We made our reservation about a week ahead of time for a Wednesday evening at 8:45 pm to catch the music that began around 9:15 pm. We tried a variety of drinks and loved them all. The table comes with a small bowl of popcorn but we also ordered the sticky Korean chicken and... More

Exciting, creative and fancy cocktails pleasing the eye but not the palate. Good to impress dates and young but rich foreign students. Would like to go back when music is on. Staff were very helpful but again, a good cocktail is only difficult to make if you have bad ingredients or too much misplaced creativity.

Staying in Shoreditch

Neighbourhood Profile
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighbourhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbour can result in fascinating outcomes.
