Had dinner on Sat weekend. Very good food, although the sirloin was a little tough (as per comment from two guests). The fish was excellent. Being a regular here, I think Sunday Roast is best in London. Our waiter was a little standoff-ish - not...More

What a cozy spot this is on a cold November evening. We came here for a Sunday roast, what a feast! Portions are generous, staff is friendly, ambiance lovely. You will leave full and happy!

Can't beat this place. The food is excellent, best pub food we have eaten in a long time - there are so many over-rated, disappointing places in this country that it really is worth writing about when a place like this comes along. The fish...More

Wanted to give the Pig and Butcher a second chance. My first visit was marred by slow service and unknowledgeable staff. Immediately realised that again the young lady serving us had no clue about the menu. Shame because we all felt sorry for her while she...More

Good food and beer. Onglet steak was tasty. Only gripe is this is not a good place for coeliacs. Price was not too expensive either.

Great food, very good service even though it was very busy. Good value for money too! Provided plates etc for a birthday cake that we took in ourselves .

Perfect Sunday roast. Attentive staff who deliver excellent service. I went with the pulled pork while others at my table had the chicken and it was all amazing. I will definitely be back.

Hi It is a while since I have been there but I do remember there being roast artichoke being on the menu. Maybe best to call as I do know that the menu is slightly different each day.

Description
The Pig and Butcher occupies a handsome pub built in the mid 1800's on what was fields used by farmers to rest and feed their livestock before being sent to Smithfield's Meat Market. We have brought the pub back to it's roots and receive carcasses straight from the farm and butcher them on site. We specialise in rare breeds such as White Park cattle, Iron Age pigs and Hebridean lamb while our friend Seb at Chart Farm supplies our game - if you haven't tried his venison you haven't lived! In summer we grill over coal and wood on our specially built Robata grill. In winter we brine, cure, smoke and braise.Vegetables come from Kent and are as good and as fresh as anything you'll find in this country. Our fish is supplied by Rupert on the south coast. He calls us in the morning and tells us what the day boats have caught and what he has. This is one of the reasons our menu changes so much - we literally don't know what fish we'll be serving until we have spoken with Rupert! We take our inspiration from farmhouse tables across Europe. Food is served simply and with little fuss! Share lots of small plates or a single big plate. We like the idea of bringing conversation back to the dining table and what better way to do it than sharing/stealing food? Think of food as Granny used to make…
