Did book as was unsure whether it would be busy, but to be honest we'd have been fine :). The platter for starters was a good choice for everyone to try a bit of everything. Came out quick after ordering too! Beer selection were good with some Bavarian choices. Had great service too from a waitress who I wish I... More

Came here with a friend last Thursday (13th July). Although the meals we ordered were nice and the beer was good, we were very disappointed with the service. I arrived first and set up a tab. When my friend arrived however, our waitress was not available (I think she was consulting with the manager on something). After waiting for five... More

To date I've only visited the beer-house as part of a Stag Do, but I'll certainly look for an opportunity to return as I and all of the others in our party had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. A great atmosphere helped by our waitress who really kept the party going (thanks Julia). The beer was german, tasty, cold and fun... More

Came here for the first time last night with some work colleagues. Walked past loads but would never think to pop in. Didn't disappoint. Beers were 2 for 1 5-7pm, nice big pint glass (I don't drink beer but it was nice!). We also had some food - pretzels, sausages, chips - the cheese that came with it was soooo... More

If you can't get over to Germany, this place is a good substitute. Hot and plentiful food, great beers, and a fast place to grab a bite. The atmosphere reminds you of American Fast Food places. Plenty of seating. I enjoyed the meal.

This pub/ restaurant is meant to be like a Bavarian beer hall. Granted it is missing a few touches, and there's no oom-pah music like I have had in Germany before, but it serves German beer (which isn't a bad thing) and typical German fayre. The smaller beers are quite expensive (i.e. a half is not really close to a... More

Bavarian Beerhouse "Tower Hill"Bavarian Beerhouse "Tower Hill" opened in May 2010. Right opposite from Fenchurch Street rail station, and just 200 feet (50metres) from Tower Hill tube station, the new venue is located in the heart of the City. Spread over two levels (street level and basement), the Bavarian Beerhouse Tower Hill has room for 300 guests. Exposed brick walls, wooden floors and modern architecture in combination with traditional and modern Bavarian design elements give the venue a unique atmosphere, both inside and outdoors. Have you noticed our pink deer head at the bar? He is called Bruno! The Bavarian Beerhouse Tower Hill was a success from day one, tripling the revenue from it's former tenant - a Pitcher & Piano - within the first month. It attracts a mixed crowd of office workers, tourists, and those who simply enjoy the authentic German and Bavarian atmosphere. Locals and residents enjoy the weekend opening hours - Bavarian Beerhouse Tower Hill is open 7 days a week. Following the success of the first Bavarian Beerhouse Old Street (founded in December 2005), the Tower Hill venue offers the Bavarian Beerhouse’s typical unique combination of excellent food, outstanding service, great German beer and fantastic rustic atmosphere. The Bavarian Beerhouse’s Owners are proud of the success: “Opening a second Bavarian Beerhouse in London proves that the British love Bavarian food, drinks and entertainment. We have already met so many local neighbours and all gave us a warm welcome.”"Tower Hill" Tube StationNext tube station "Tower Hill" (Circle and District Line)

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
