The cafe has good coffee, decent food and a nice outdoor setting. The staff aren't bad but don't seen too friendly or warming either.

Lovely little place, my veg lasagna was delicious while my friends enjoyed their panini's. Very busy place yet the service was prompt and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Will return again.

We stopped here for a cheap lunch after walking round Greenwich and through the market. Cheap food and a nice friendly service. It is a small cafe and we sat inside but it was nice to go somewhere different. Baguette's were delicious.

Sunny afternoon my partner and I decided to have lunch in Greenwich. We went to the Monsoon Cafe by Greenwich market and looked at the menu outside to see what they had to offer. A waitress came out to greet us and asked us to go inside so we felt obliged and pressurised to do so. The waitress seemed quite... More

Average cafe and not much to rave about it, the cafe looks pretty basic, just tables and chairs. Rude service, we were asked to leave because people were waiting for a table. I suppose we had paid and consumed so no longer customers. Then after reminder #2 despite other tables next to us free, we left there was still no... More

Visited on a bank holiday Saturday. While the surrounding streets were heaving with tourists this minuscule cafe was a welcome respite from the masses. I had a bagette whist the three others in our party had sandwiches. All were average and nothing more. Fillings obviously came from catering size containers supplied commercially. Only the bread and salad appeared fresh. Coffees... More

I visited this cafe with my boyfriend and his mum, and discovered a lovely cafe with very nice baked potatoes at a very reasonable price for the area. The staff were very friendly and despite going upstairs where there were no other customers, the service was fast and it never felt like we had been forgotten up at the top... More

Glad we stopped here, as the staff in this tiny place couldn't have been nicer. Food was fine. And the place is a quiet respite in touristy Greenwich. Would go again (if I could find the place!?) ... Seriously, it's right on Turnpin Lane, which is a very convenient "cut-through" between the museumy-part of Greenwich and the rest of town.

I broke up with my boyfriend today, and needed serious comfort food after a terrible drive in the rain. To escape the pathetic fallacy, I chose to enter the welcoming arms of Mother Monsoon. We were greeted by a devilishly handsome young waiter at the door (not like that should a factor)who led us upstairs into the bijou extension, whereby... More

Staying in Greenwich

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich Mean Time starts here, so to speak, as the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory, just one of several buildings of architectural interest in Greenwich. Indeed, the whole of Greenwich's historic town center, its Royal Park and a number of related buildings (and one world famous ship, the Cutty Sark) make up the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Maritime Greenwich. Today a laser beam is shot out across the night sky from the Observatory to mark the location of the Prime Meridian. Other bold (some say brash) 21st century additions to the area include landmarks such as The O2 entertainment complex (previously known as the Millennium Dome) and the Air Line cable cars, which offer scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks.
