After two very good experiences at Yipin I was very very disappointed with the third - and final - visit to this restaurant. Ordered a take away for a sunday evening meal, ordering a number of different dishes from the extensive menu. - peking duck wth pancakes - sweet and sour chicken - prawn gun pao with cashew - tofu... It is my second time at Yipin China, and I have always left very happy and satisfied. They have a VAST range of food to choose from, maybe a tad too much (the process of choosing the dishes has taken me more than 10 min, and I am usually very quick). My advice is to keep it simple. Location is... More

Really quiet but great tasty authentic food. Huge menu selection - took us ages to go through it all - with some particularly strange dishes! A little pricey but worth it for the quality. Very friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed it

My boyfriend had the crispy duck and thoroughly enjoyed it. However, as a vegetarian, I struggled and had to add some of his plum sauce to my rather bland asparagus and egg fried rice. Quick service, although I did not receive my soybeans that were ordered at the same time as my other food.

Quiet local Chinese restaurant with a huge menu covering multiple cuisines (Hunan, Szechuan and Cantonese) - far more up-market than a greasy Chinese takeaway but not too swanky. The menu is quite overwhelming but with plenty of photos to help you decide. I really enjoyed the flavoursome dry-wok chicken (lots of spices and flavours) and the spare rib soup (gingery... More

Tired staff, tired decor, over complex menu....no duck available [which my partner had particularly wanted].

This is the first restaurant to which we've returned as a group, but enjoyed it so much last time, that 8 members of my Foodie Group decided to indulge ourselves again and we certainly weren't disappointed. An unassuming restaurant at the far end of Liverpool Road, specialising in Hunanese food. Layer upon layer of flavour....fantastic. Staff don't seem to understand... More

Really great Hunanese food in a no-frills environment. Staff are as weird as you'd want them to be but attentive nonetheless. I really recommend the snails and the Chairman Mao red braised pork, which is just incredible. Loads of dried/pickled chilli, fresh herbs and pink peppercorns. It is a bit pricier than the run-of-the-mill chinese restaurant, but this isn't run-of-the-mill... More

Avoid this like a plague. Food was unhygenic and made me sick. I had expected more from this restaurant but it seems like a place which has lost its soul. There are nice photos on the rather extensive but I would never come here again. The waitress also had a can't be bothered attitude - I had to go up... More

Omg! A complete SHOCK once we got the bill! £86 for four dishes, two adults, a two year old and a six year old! Never again. Did taste great, duck was incredibly tough and the chicken dish we had, had the most miniature chicken pieces you've ever seen in your life and the rest of the dish used a heap... More
