I'm so glad we got a slot at last minute at la bodega negra. Don't get out off by the odd frontage and lacking of signage. The food, drinks and atmosphere were all just right for a fun birthday evening in soho. We had some cocktails: mescal in fashion was outstanding. The tacos were tasty: mushroom and lamb were tastiest.... More

Went here last night for a birthday meal, I expected a bigger menu and more choice. Don't choose this place if you want a proper meal, the only options really are tacos or raw fish and everything is served with guacamole which is way too much. It's expensive for what it is and the only thing I liked were the... More

We where just walking by and it turned out to be a nice place. We ate by the bar, because it was full, but it was cosy and the bartender was really kind. We took the beef and chicken tortillas and they tasted good and fresh.

Staff were very friendly. The tacos as a starter were lovely although the one main dish they have for veggies was quite bland and not particularly pleasant to eat. Nice bar/concept but would fill up on starters as a veggie!

The place is a very nice and the atmosphere school however the food was not so good and it's really really expensive. the waiters are Nice. We enjoyed the starters but the main courses were not good at all.

I like this place. Whether it's some lovely tapas style Mexican dishes to share or a cocktail or three, it's always a welcome destination on a soho night out. There's also a cool, atmospheric bar / restaurant downstairs (via fitting fake sex shop frontage) if you want to book ahead.

Booked in advance, lucky for us as the place was very busy and people were being turned away if they hadn't book as the place was full. Food was lovely, staff friendly. Very expensive but it is in central London so as expected for such a place.

Had a lovely dinner here as a group of 8 (4 adults, 4 children). They couldn't really accommodate 8 so we squeezed around a booth which was OK. The food was great: burger, crab burger, tacos etc but it all came at different times and some didn't materialise at all. Drinks were incorrect and slow too, so it wasn't just... More

It's ok, steak very good, quesadillas great everything else was ok. My main gripe is the price. 75pounds per person with just beers is too much. I think at that price I prefer ceviche in old street.

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
