Many people like this chain of cafes but I feel the coffee is generally overrated and find the baristas way too cool for school. With so much choice in London and especially Soho, I would prefer a cafe like the Nordic Bakery in Golden Square.

Always had Fernandez & Wells on my list of places to visit when in town, but never managed it until last week. Coffee & Croissant were so good on that visit that I had no hesitation in coming back when asked where I wanted to go for breakfast. I wish I had asked where they get their croissant from. The... Had lunch with two good friends. The restaurant was recommended in a guide book. First impressions as you walk in is that is is quite small and just sandwiches but wander through and find a good spot and relish the larger menu. It was busy but not loud, bright but not without atmosphere and best of all the food is... More

Good location, friendly staff, cosy atmosphere and nice wine and tapas at affordable prices. Maybe the place owners could do more to brand themselves, there were not too many people

If you love quality coffee then you can't go wrong at Fernandez & Wells. Great service but the baristas take pride in their ability to produce the perfect espresso.

There are many great Spanish tapas/pinxtos bars in Soho. Barrafina and Fino top the list, but if you want a relaxed venue with great fish, meat and cheese choices complemented by good wine choices then this is the place!

There's a few branches of Fernandez & Wells now. I used to to favour the one on Lexington Street but that's become a bit too busy with spaces facing a wall if you're lucky enough to get a perch. I came across this branch tucked away in a Soho alleyway and it seems like seats are always available. I always... More

After a few weeks in Italy, I was back in London before flying back to Oz and desperate for a smooth and punchy coffee like the ones we get back in Sydney. I stumbled into Fernandez & Wells drawn mostly by the cute front facade and cozy vibe. I ordered a soy latte and some cake and was very happy!... More

There is a litany of coffee shop options in Soho, some appalling, some excellent. F&W's fall into the later. They have consistently offered great coffee and an excellent tea selection for a few years now. If you fancying something a little harder, a small but excellent selection of artisan wines and sherries are on offer. Pata Negra legs hang invitingly... More

Quite a cool little place but £20 for 2 cheese and ham sandwiches and 2 soft drinks is overpriced even in this area. No complaints with the food but there's better spots around for lunch in this price range.

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
