Visited here to compare to another falafel takeaway nearby. The food was great, on par with the other restaurant, tasty falafels that were crispy and a bit better than the others I'd had locally but it is soooooo noisy! I was asked to repeat my order twice and after shouting over the counter it was still wrong when I got... More

This place is a real gem. Hidden on a side street off Fleet Street, it's popular with the City folk that work round here. However, the staff were very friendly and welcoming to me, a first-timer. I opted for the falafel pita with a selection of the salads. It was absolutely delicious! I'm a huge meat-lover but I could eat... More

Very good falafel with a good selection of fresh salads. I like that they hand you a falafel ball already to eat while waiting - a brilliant gesture.

Falafel in the pita (white or brown bread) is truly fascinating. The people who work there are polite and will help you out with suggestions if you're to come for the first time.

I work on fleet street and have decided to check out eateries around the area. I had falafel in pilpel and have to say they make the best falafel in London. Very bubbly and friendly staff and reasonably priced. You have the option of having it in a pati or in a bowl. Pilpel is quite hidden you'd have to... More

I visited the Spitalfield's branch of PilPel for a quick bite while at the market - the service was speedy, food ready to go and absolutely delicious! The falafel was the best I have had.

Pilpel now have 3 branches. I usualy go to the one in Spitafields which is open 7 days a week! Pilpel make one of the best falafels, which are 'green' inside. I used to go to Maoz in Soho, which has a similar offering, but I did not like the self-service salad bar, as customers were not hygienic when serving... More

This is my favourite PilPel, but they all provide the same consistent incredible fast food and all have the FRIENDLIEST staff. I love this place because the food is so fresh no matter what time you go in, they never run out of ingredients and the warmest staff whip up your falafel box or pitta at lightning speed. The place... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
