We found this restaurant after an evening at the theater. The wait staff clearly did not want to serve us but as we had already missed the cut off point at other eateries decided this would be our only option. The waiter took our order grudgingly and not hiding the fact he was not impressed with us being there,The drinks and starters... Had a few hours before a late train home so thought we'd go for an indian. This is on one of the main shopping side-streets around the west-end, near Leicester Square, bustling with people, so thought it would be a safe bet. How wrong could one be. It's February. It's cold. Why are there mosquitos or midges lurking around above... More

Restaurant looked quite inviting inside, a waiter opened the door whilst we were reading the menu outside and invited us to try some good Indian food so we thought we would give it a try. First impressions seemed OK but was soon greeted by an unfriendly waiter who seemed eager to have us over order the amount of food we... More

We saw the restaurant was empty and people may have read other reviews about the service. Can I say this is not wholly fair. The service was quick and efficient. There was no great fanfare or chit chat but efficiency. The food was the real star as it should be and very good. The price of food in London is... More

I see all the bad reviews here, but we had a perfectly normal experience. Good food and reasonable service. Large menu with many styles of cooking rarely seen in the US (but more normal for the UK). Our dishes came as we requested (mild), and they were all tasty. The only disappoinment was the naan, which was a bit too... More

Not sure how they earn money here, but it cannot be by selling food. Waiters are horribly rude. We arrived on a cold day and wanted to hang our coats, hats and scarves on the coat hanger near the stairs, but were not allowed by one of the waiters, even though the place was practically deserted (rightly so). Then we... More

Went here for a meal after theatre. Another Indian restaurant around the corner had a long que but this one was virtually empty, should have rung alarm bells! The menu was very typical of a UK Indian, when the food arrived it was bland and slight under cooked with no sauce, salad etc. Main course was ok ish but a... More

This was an awful meal. The food was unpalatable, full of salt and butter, and devoid of any Indian flavours. Quite the worst meal I've eaten.

4 of us were looking for a curry last night while in the West End and came across the Grand Indian, a fairly uninspiring looking place up a sidestreet off St Martin's Lane. A quick browse of these reviews told us not to expect much (and Mondays are never the best days for a curry as some restaurants re-heat weekend... More
