We visited Vapiano during a trip to London. The concept of ordering the food at the chef was working good. We ordered Pasta Carbonara and Insalata Reef n' Beef. It was a very good meal to a very fair price. We could easily come back next we visit London.

Friend and i stumbled upon this restaurant and im really glad we took a chance. Restaurant was busy and we had to share a table, which wasn't a problem. The tables are long and wide. We ordered a pizza, pesto and spinach for me and tuna for him. I loved my choice, the pizza base was so thin and crispy.... More

I liked Vapiano for its food and service that used be excellent, it is an informal restaurant where you have to order at the bar, however from last few months the service to customers is going down more and more, usually in go for late lunch , around 4pm, and apparently at this time the staff members are tired and... Love this restaurant as all food is cooked fresh to order, right in front of you. Also this gives you the option of deciding what you want in your meal, which is great. Reasonably priced and a nicely designed restaurant. Only downside is there can sometimes be a queue.

Previously when we have eaten here it has been relatively quiet, but on a Friday lunchtime, it was buzzing. There was a queue for pizzas, and we were told there would be a twenty minute wait, which was about right. The food was excellent again, and the bill very reasonable at about £35 for two pizzas and drinks.

Went for lunch with my sister for birthday. Plenty of seats. Very minimal waiting to get served. Cooked fresh in front of us. Food was very tasty. Had the carbonara sauce, you can pick from about 10 different types of pasta to have with it. Good selection of drinks. Plenty of outside seating to eat in today's sunshine.

Dined here with my family for my son's birthday, whilst the style was the opposite of what I envisioned. It was different, had to queue, but I didn't mind that, staff were friendly and answered my questions which I'm sure they get asked all the time. It was a nice layout. We enjoyed our food, wine and the restaurant in... More

Visit of 6 as birthday outing. First time visitors for several of us and, all in all, a pleasant experience. Hard to find a table for all 6 of us when we arrived (around 7:30 PM) but didn’t have to wait long. On entering the restaurant we were each handed our “order” card which we took to the designated area... More

I've been there to meet a business partner over lunch. Half of the time was spent queuing alone so I'm not sure the system is working well for me. I understand if you'd like to get drinks or dessert yourself - things that get served faster - but waiting in line for someone else's pasta to get cooked is not... More

Imagine you go to McDonalds with your kids. One wants a Big Mac meal, the other a Filet-O-Fish and you're going to be super-duper healthy and go for one of their salads. So you pop up to the counter to order the lot only to be told by the girl in the little hat who's quite clearly buckling under the... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
