We visited Monday 7th for a birthday dinner, we were going to book the library another time but were a bit late for this one so thought we would try the gallery out. Now I know that the gallery isn’t the starred room so I...wasn’t expecting ‘the best’ however as a sister room I had high hopes that it would at least be nice. Now, the decor is stunning and is just as instagrammable as you can imagine but my oh my was this the highlight of this room. Firstly, the service was appalling. We had three different waiters to our table and a sommelier (who was the nicest out of them all - kind and welcoming but needed to learn a bit more of his wine by the glass) our main waiter was Curt, rude and always in a hurry which I would normally forgive but the place wasn’t even half full. When I couldn’t choose between lobster and lamb and asked for his recommendation he retorted ‘well your mums having fish so just have a bit of hers...’ now, we had never stated she was my mother so firstly this was very disrespectful and secondly she wasn’t even having the lobster! He parred us off all night and only checked on us once leaning over with a working card machine in his hand. when I said I wasn’t sure we would be having dessert he tossed the bill on our table, he wasn’t even the one to take payment. Food: The haddock and scallop soufflé was tasty but WAY too big, it was also far too rich and needed something that wasn’t egg or cream based, the horseradish might have done this if I could taste it, overall it was ok but made me a little queasy after that much cream, the cabbage was lovely though. Asparagus and morels - gorgeous. Perfect balance and nice and earthy - large but ok. Lamb was amazing, I chose right after having no help from the rude waiter and was very happy. It didn’t need the crispy kale on the side as it had a lovely helping of well seasoned kale, garlic and olives on the side - was a touch tough but I would put that down to me choosing medium-rare instead of rare. Fish - (not the plaice may have been bream?) was, well... fine. I would expect anyone with a fresh nice piece of fish to be able to cook this even if they didn’t have a seasoning cupboard... not worth the £28 it cost... Cocktails were ok, lady D was incredibly sweet but the one with tea and banana was delicious. Wine was yet again, ok... I expected more from the red but it was more like a table wine at (£30?) a glass... All in all I was very disappointed, it was almost like going to a gastro pub with an aspiring chef then a decent restaurant and even then I would have been a little off about the service... at £170ish for the table (which would of been a bargain if it lived up to at least a nice restaurant standard especially for a birthday meal) I think I’ll be choosing somewhere else next time, a nice local would of done a similar job. Not sure weather to try the library now or now but with the wealth of decent starred restaurant around I think it won’t be the next one I choose that’s for sure...More

What has happened to Sketch Gallery after the lockdown? Where everyone else seems to have upped their game I’m heartbroken to say that Sketch Gallery should be avoided until they get their act together. From the sommelier pouring our wine into someone else’s glasses (and...offering us “a couple of glasses of bubbly, or maybe a glass of something similar?”) to the tasteless langoustine in washing up water (apparently super strong mushroom consommé), the bland sourdough? or the massively overcooked ricotta pasta, or the tasteless soufflé, I have no idea where to begin. In fairness the waiter was excellent, as were the cocktails, but after that it just went downhill fast. Such a shame, as we had a fabulous meal back in October. All in all a highly memorable 31st wedding anniversary for all the wrong reasons!More

The Gallery dining room is beautifully decorated and provides a real wow-factor. The staff were very attentive, to the point of perhaps being a little too much too often. The portions are reasonable and all of the dishes we tried were tasty, the menu would...benefit from a few additional vegetarian options as these are very limited. Overall we were happy and the food was of a good quality for the prices charged.More

Real wow factor and amazing decor . This is surely what the restaurant relies on!!!!! Service was very snobbish . Had a reservation for breakfast at 11am. Order taken promptly and food served in the next 20 minutes . When the food arrived , I...realised I had forgotten to order a side ( hash browns ) . On requesting for one , was told in a very snobbish and arrogant manner that she would check if the kitchen was still open . I had a reservation till 12pm so not sure why their kitchen was closing at 11.20 !!!!! Was served the additional order but was made to feel she has done me huge favour ! This restaurant is definitely relying on its decor r to get the business , but in these very competitive times not sure if they will be getting repeat business with this attitude.!More

Took my wife here for her birthday night out. What an awesome experience it is. Not your typical fine dining place, uts loud and hectic which felt like a proper night out. The sommelier Pablo was epic as was out waitress Katerina. Who kindly got...us in the spaceship bar for drinks afterwards. The food was good (not amazing) could do with some refinement. However it was a really great place to go for a fun night out. Not the cheapest either but in my opinion it was worth it!More

Staff were extremely judgemental, walking away when we asked to be served. Due to us being a group of young adults we assume it was because of our age. We were given judgemental looks and seemed as if we were being talked about amongst staff....When we decided to leave due to this treatment we were told we would be fined for not turning up. Would never recommend to anyone that wouldn't be seen as "worthy" of their service.More

Unfortunately only Oriental people dine here. Not polite staff on a ground floor. Polite waitresses on a first floor. I would never enjoy a cup of tea. I hate tea.

Came here with my best friend and my daughter for festive afternoon tea at £92 per head with a glass of pommery brut. I was happy to pay this price on the notion that its Christmas and I wanted to treat myself. Sadly the "Festive"...afternoon tea was an anti climax and did not come close to matching its pretty surroundings. The only meager attempt at something remotely festive themed was the chocolate log, which was a cake slice rather than a mini log. I wish I'd book another tea that had pastries decorated to my expected festive standard. Not one snowflake, Christmas tree, gingerbread man or glitter in sight. There are much better themed afternoon teas and gutted Sketch did not meet the festive brief. I'm left feeling a bit ripped off and that I actually paid for a visit to egg toilets and a dance from a ballerina. If you're not a foodie, absolutely come here for the atmosphere. If you love food, this isn't the place for you.More

Not sure, Just go on-line and look at the different menu offerings. One thing is for sure the food was great and if in any doubt just ask the waiter. The staff were amazing when we went there in June during lock down

I would recommend to book a table also for drinks because the place can be very busy at night, especially at weekends. You can try walk in if you don't mind going to another place if the place is too busy.

I have no idea about their breakfast but, I would book the pink room. It’s just more unique. Enjoy
