lovely place to dine for lunch, its packed though so best if you come early. Theres a lovely corner with a fireplace and the food is excellent. Worth a stop in Wimbledon before you travel to Hampton Court.

If you want a drink in Wimbledon I would avoid this pub - it's very expensive, and the staff are rude and stroppy. I was in the Alex at the weekend and when I queried the price of my drinks I was told "if you don't like it then drink else where". I only stayed as I was meeting friends,... More

A well run pub with good standard pub grub. What you see is what you get and its a good place for meeting up with friends.

I read the reviews of The Alex on TripAdvisor with a keen eye. I worked there in 1990-1991, when I first arrived from the US. My daughter, 23, now lives in Wimbledon, so I suggested we go there for my birthday last weekend. As we went through the enormous pub, I explained to her what it was like 25 years... More

Being a fan of Real Ale, I am somewhat put off by Young's pubs, not because Young's Bitter or Special are not good ales, but because aside from these two many pubs operated by this chain offer few or no guest ales worth talking about. Occasionally you find a Twickenham or a Bombardier, but generally nothing terribly interesting. So, when... More

The food is good pub food but what makes this place great is the service and the staff who really try hard to make it a great experience . Great for all ages and not too pricey.

We booked a table to go here for a meal on a Friday night but won't do it again. You have to navigate your way through the busy bar area to find the dining space which is very cramped and there is no staff presence to stop people crowding around your table while you eat. The food was ok but... More

Popped up to Wimbledon to visit my sister today. After shopping we decided to have lunch and she told me of her guilty pass time... the Alexandre pub... Lovely place, lovely friendly staff and divine sandwich fries and bottomless coffee. We decided to share the Loft sandwich with some curly fries. As my brother has his own pub also known... More

Having been a patron of this pub for some thirty years. It just seems to get better and better. It is not the cheapest pub around but has an excellent selection of beers, wines and food. gets very busy whenever football is being shown - Sky Sports etc

Thank Melvin B

It's mainly a gastropub/pub. I'm surprised The Alexandra only brings up some awful hotel in London as this place is cracking for food, maybe the best pub in Wimbledon.
