Uncomfortable stools, mixed quality tapas and just the feeling that all was not going well on the night staff wise - off night perhaps? Needless to say we don't think we will return as we so wanted to visit this place and after the travel and wait to get in realised that while we normally are well catered for tapas... More

Morito laid on a special evening to eat calçots - the forced onions which are a speciality in spring in Catalonia. Fantastically messy, because they are barbecued, the outsides go black, and then for some reason they always wrap them in newspaper. So they give you those plastic bibs that you sometimes get to eat lobster. Lovely different tapas as... More

Took pesco vegetarian daughter for birthday meal. She was coming straight from work so we ate early, got table straight away [6.30]. No booking. Tables small, crowded together and uncomfortable wooden stools to sit on. My daughter really liked it. I thought the tapas were OK, not brilliant and quite dear for the small portions. Around £7 a mini plate,... More

I love this Spanish tapas bar, the food is amazing. A bit on the pricey side but it's totally worth it. Only problem is the restaurant has very limited seating so it's actually pretty hard to get a table on weekends and peak hours. But I highly recommend it for couples (groups of friends of over 4 are going to... More

My second visit and it is still the best tapas I have eaten in London. Make sure you order the deep fried chickpeas and the aubergine. Every dish we tried was amazing, from Scallop and rhubarb ceviche to cubes of crispy pork belly with mojo verde. Great place with a really nice atmosphere and ambience. One of my favourite places... Even if I'm not a big fan of the "Tapas" portions and concept, the food we had was really amazing. Each dish had amazing quality ingredients treated in such a nice and simple way but with new and exciting combinations. I loved the fact that each dish was a new twist on mediterranean ingredients. A must go (probably better in... More

Similar to its bigger brother Moro, Morito has a way of bringing amazing flavours together in creative dishes! I highly recommend the orange wine.

I'm often in London with work and this is one of my fave places. Staff are always friendly and willing to make suggestions. I love the pork belly and the bread is superb. Do yourself a favour and go early as it can get very busy.

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighbourhood Profile
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
