Had a nice roast dinner here on a cold Sunday afternoon. Pros: Lively and welcoming atmosphere, lots of people friendly and efficient staff generous serving size great and massive Yorkshire pudding with my roast beef (asked for extra gravy and got it briskly in nice small jug) Excellent French wine by the bottle Cons: I think £18 is a lot... We had to wait for an hour to be seated but the Sunday Roast was worth having to wait. The service was polite. I will be back!

nice people working on the night but there is a feeling that staff are not being trained to insure you are looked after from beginning to the end of your meal. They provide the basic service but nothing else.

I have visit the dinning room here on many occasions and I will certainly go again but the food can be very hit and miss, even the same dish on a different night can be a completely different experience. The food fairly pricey but worth every penny when its good, the staff are always well informed about the menu and... More

Having gone to a small theatre show at another pub and nothing on their menu being appealing we wandered around and found ourselves rather hungry, so walked into The Princess. At first, I was wondering whether we should walk out as it was quite noisy, but we decided to stay. The pub itself was rather dark, there were quite a... More

Thank you for leaving such a detailed review of your experience with us. It's hugely disappointing to receive a 2-star review, but when the guest has had 'the most delicious' steak ever, it's devastating. Our success at The Princess has been built on delivering restaurant standard food and service and process has clearly not been followed on this occasion. It'd... More

Took clients here for a business lunch and was seriously impressed! The dining room upstairs is pretty casual but service was very attentive. The food though....amazing! The scallop ceviche was simply devine, all the mains were wolfed down and rice pudding - mmmm!!

We got recommended this restaurant for Sunday Roast and it was amazing! It changed our impression that British food was just fish & chips. The venue is also very traditional and charming.

Staying in Shoreditch

Neighbourhood Profile
Shoreditch
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighbourhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbour can result in fascinating outcomes.
