Stopped here for a drink on our way back from the Tower of London (which is a 5 minute walk away). It's quirky - being underneath a working railway bridge, every time a train went over the whole place shook but that added to the atmosphere. We paid £8.50 for a pint and small glass of wine. We didn't have... More

That's my favorite pub in London. I've been there tens of times. It's in Tower area and it's easy to reach from Tower Hill tube station and especially from Tower Gateway DLR-station. They have ca. twenty different beers from the tap. They also serve pub food but it's as pub food used to be - you can eat and fill... More

Interesting place with trains rumbling over ceiling - food we wanted had run out, ordered alternative and they got the order wrong. Couldn't decide what the veggies were - undercooked and very strange colour - never did get our chips. Pie was abit watery and not very warm inside .....

Great location, really good place to watch games. Food surprisingly good, better than most pub chains. Trains above creates ambience. Perfect back space to rent for groups too!

Visited The Minories for a business lunch for five after a very pleasant meeting, I opted to stay safe and order the cheeseburger and chips. It was a pretty standard cheeseburger by all accounts but no complaints, although the portions could have been a bit bigger but I'll always say that since I'm a big eater, I had a couple... More

My other half is quite the fan (and critic) of breakfasts out, but was very taken with the food here during our stay in London last weekend. On his say so, the veggie breakfast is highly recommended :) I enjoyed the tasty re-interpretation of Eggs Benedict, although ummed and ahhed over the range on the menu. Thanks too to Francesco... Ordered a sharing plate here. £12.75 and worth every penny. If only the drinks were not so expensive. Atmosphere and location are 5*. Only let downs are the high drink prices especially with a wetherspoons 100 yards away. Guess where we went after the amazing sharing platter?

Really nice place really big, they have a loads of crafts beers . The food was really nice and it came out quick. The service was good, you usally don't get a really nice service in pub but in this one was awesome! They even checked back to us to see if everything was fine! We had a great time... More

Ok so I'm not eating here but the pub atmosphere, friendliness of staff and quality and choice of beer are all very good. Even the rumble of trains overhead is kinda enjoyably unique! The crowd seems to be a healthy mix of tourists and local workers but not uncomfortabley so.. It actually kinda works... I think I'll have another pint... More

we stayed at a local hotel which charged £15 for breakfast, so tried here instead and were very pleased with the big, well-cooked breakfast.

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighbourhood Profile
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
