We went to balls brother in austin friars for drinks with 10 colleagues on a thursday night. The place has been recentlyrefurbished, it is very nice looking. Atmosphere is good, crowdy enough to be entertaining but not too much so that you can enjoy drinks with your colleagues and still have a chat (which is not true in every place... More

Really enjoyed the England v Wales game in the gallery. The venue was packed but great service meant that it was easy to get drinks during the game. All of the food was delivered on time and was good quality considering the pressure the kitchen was under. Everyone in our party enjoyed this venue and we will go back soon... More

Come here for drinks in the evening with ex-work colleagues. Staff friendly and welcoming. They sell draft Becks which I love. Great atmosphere although there are a lot of screaming girls long of alcohol. A bit pricer that a pub. Then again this is a bar! Only eaten here once lunchtime and food wan really good. Will continue to come... More

Came here one evening with 30+ work colleagues for drinks and nibbles and I was really impressed by the service. The young and fresh faced waiting staff don't allow you to stand too long with out a drink and when they arrive the cocktails are fresh and very well priced for central London. When the food came I was overwhelmed... More

These guys have really thought about Customer service and repeat business, unlike their competitors. You are made to feel welcome and service is quick which is exactly what you need when fitting in a lunch break. Service charges are included but not at silly rates which is refreshing. Repeat business is enticed when you book as you are entered into... More

I have now organised three organisational dinners at the Gallery. Firstly the food was excellent value and well prepared and presented. The staff at the Gallery are efficient and very courteous. From a management point of view they are very easy to deal with and accommodating. But what really shines is their willingness to make life easy for the organiser... More

Good starters at around £5-£6, included calamari or lamb koftas. For mains we had the £10 burger, but paid a £1 to add a cheese topping. Chips were included. A pint of beer (draft Peroni) was over £5. So by City of London standards the food was good value, with beer prices being the usual 'ouch'. It looked as if... More

I took a team of 14 out for lunch last week to The Gallery. The service was very efficient even before we got there. Sabrina not only enabled us to pre-order the meals but also chose a time for the food to be served which meant that there were no delays, everybody got to eat together and we were back... More

The Gallery is a cavernous pub/restaurant in the city, with tables crammed cheek by jowl and the volume turned up to eleven. I visited one lunchtime with some work colleagues and it was packed with similarly besuited worker bees, buzzing with the thrill of a Friday lunchtime beverage and the prospect of the long bank holiday weekend ahead. If you're... More

Recommended by a colleague and booked via email. The staff were very friendly. My booker Sabrina was very helpful and accommodated all the last minute changes for a group booking of 18, no,16 then down to 14 due to work commitments. Always courteous and to top it off the food was delicious. Thanks Guys

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
