It is the first time we tried Georgian food. The restaurant caters for the mid-price market and we liked the Georgian way of cooking various meats. Unusually there are no warm vegetables, but we were not hungry, as in addition to the main course we had a starter accompanied by black bread and dessert. The dessert choice is limited but... More

This small restaurant tucked away on Boundary Road offers traditional Georgian cuisine at highly unstressful prices. The khachapuri (hot flatbreads with melted cheese) and khinkali (Georgian meat dumplings whose shapes resemble string purses) are especially recommendable for first-timers. More unusual but equally appetising dishes include chick with garlic and khachapuri with beans. A wonderful treat for anyone wishing to acquaint... More

Really excellent genuine Georgian food with a small but quality wine and beer selection. The native Georgian staff are very competent, patient and friendly. As other reviewers have noted, no it's not cheap, but then again it depends on your frame of reference. If you are comparing it to Georgian restaurants in Tblisi or even Moscow for that matter, it... This is one of the very few Georgian restaurants in London and definitely a very good one. Khachapuri was great (though I have a small complaint about the fact there's only 2 types of it, while traditionally there's several more), the dumplings were great too, probably with a touch less herbs than you'd normally find them (for me a good... This is the third time I have been to this restaurant. The quality and genuineness of the food is consistent. This is good earthy central asian food which is quite tasty. thr starters or mezze are excellent. Everyone enjoyed their main course whether stuffed cabbage or Russian style filled dumplings or meat. But the best was to come - an... More

...but unfortunately it isn't. It's a cross-town return trip that I've been meaning to make for a long time. Tucked in a little enclave of neighbourhood joints off Abbey Road, Tamada offers food you won't find everywhere. iMicca is very much mistaken, unless I am very much mistaken - there are at least 4 other Georgian restaurants and if iMicca... Staying in one of the local hotels I walked passed this restaurant and seeing it was Georgian food looked interesting. I visited the restaurant the following evening and was not disappointed. There was a warm friendly welcome when I entered the restaurant and having not eaten Georgian before help with the menu was greatfully received. Would certainly recommend this restaurant... More

I have tried Georgian food since I was first in Georgia many years ago and since then understand pretty well how their food should taste, be priced and quantity of it per dish ordered. Well, I think this restaurant benefits from being the only Georgian-only restaurant in London if I am not mistaken and hence their prices are out of... More
