Somewhere different to usual chains situated near the London Eye. Good service, very friendly staff.

We have eaten in some great med. restuarants and were looking forward to Baba Ganoush which was not available. Found the seating uncomfortable but lovely warm lighting. getting over the disappointment we ordered meze and moussaka. Nice palatable red wine. The moussaka didn't do it for me - nothing special. Bread tasted a bit too sweet and felt a little... More

The service was extremely awful. We had to wait almost an hour and a half for the food to arrive, the drinks came in dirty cups, you could see the oil residue on top of the cola as the cups hadn't been washed properly. Never again!

We are here recently whilst staying in the nearby Plaza hotel and had been shopping/sightseeing all day and didnt want to walk too far for dinner. Great menu selection - casseroles, grills, seafood, veggie and tradional dishes, attentive service, very generous portions of food and good value for money. Would definitely recommend a visit here if you find yourself in... More

Always stop here when in London. Tasty Mediterranean dishes and friendly efficient staff; reasonably priced. If you're visiting the London Eye, it's well worth the stop.

I was walking towards the Festival Hall - along one of my least favourite areas for food - it was a cold and sleety evening and suddenly I was attracted by the beautiful lights in this restaurant. When I stopped to look at the menu I was happy to see a good choice of imaginative vegetarian dishes. included in a... More

I was staying at the Premier Inn, County Hall and was looking for a decent evening meal. I looked at Troia which is directly opposite. What a gem! The staff were friendly and welcoming. The menu offers a fusion of Greek/Turkish and there is even fish and chips. You get complimentary olives, tzatziki and bread to start. I went for... More

I work in the local area and try to have my business meeting at Troia as I know that the quality of food and service would always be perfect and my guests would love it. I had Lamb Shish and my guests had Iskender kebab and Adana Kebab and they were all delicious..

Handy to eat if you're staying at the Premier Inn by the London Eye - it's right opposite the entrance! A good range of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food we had chicken shish Taouk, vegetable lasagne and lamb tagine. Drinks good value for London and very pleasant staff. And if you want a Hookha pipe you can have that too!

This smart glass-fronted caf, restaurant bar on Belvedere Road is neighbours with the Royal Festival Hall, Yo Sushi! and Chez Gerard in that cultural hot-spot, the Southbank. The 82-dishes (excluding set, special and children meals) offer a comprehensive taste of Turkey's national (healthy) diet. There's kisir, a cold starter of nuts, bulgar wheat, herbs and spring onions. Hearty mains include kuzu guvec, a lamb casserole, and a delicious mariage of runner beans and onions served with a rich tomato sauce and rice called yesil fasulye. There are fish, pasta, rice, and special veggie dishes too. Desserts make an intriguing change from treacle pudding and cheesecake. How about kaymakh kestane - sweet chestnuts sprinkled with chestnuts and served with home-made cream?

Staying in Southbank

Neighbourhood Profile
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
