A great restaurant which satisfies the meat and cheese eater very well. We were warmly welcomed and seated right by the iconic cheese room. The menu hasn't changed much since last Christmas, but the addition of a Wagu sirloin was too much to resist. The mushrooms on sourdough with a duck egg was rich and creamy Great meal followed by... Not a bad restaurant but definitely better around the London Bridge area. Food was ok but the portion sizes were very small and left still hungry. Wine list is decent though- that was the best part.

I came here for a slightly more 'upmarket' meal with my boyfriend and had a really lovely evening. The staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming. They took the time to describe the food and wine in detail and give great recommendations (despite the both of us being a bit clueless!) I was a bit apprehensive about booking here as we... More

I visited here with 2 friends for lunch. The good thing is you can have a light lunch at very reasonable prices and it was excellent. The restaurant wasn't crowded which was good and so we were seated straight away. We ordered drinks, which did take a whole to come, it was however, due to the wine not being chilled... More

Have eaten here several times, I keep coming back, that speaks for itself. The menu won't blow your socks off, but there are some pleasant breaks from the norm, you need to check out the menu. I am also a cheese lover....if you can get some time in the cheese room, simply wonderful.

We've become regulars at Vivat Bacchus because it never fails to deliver. Always delicious food, amazing wine and even better cheese. Monika, Eddie, Samuel and all the team are always happy and welcoming. We visit at least once a week on either business meetings or date nights so good for any occasion. Great menu and great service! :-)

One of the best meals I have ever had! We had the cured meats, which were delicious and different... then I had the ostrich steak and my husband had the t-bone steak, both of which were absolutely beautiful both in terms of the quality of meat and the way in which it was cooked - even the vegetables were perfect.... Me and my other half visited here while on a long weekend in London - we weren't sure where to try and this came up as a good option. We booked a table last minute and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming! The food was tasty - we both had steak! And the sides were good too!! There was... More

Another great night at Vivat! There was a large group of us for wine tasting and we all had a brilliant night! Great wine was sampled ( lots of Malbec consumed post wine tasting :-) and an amazing selection of cheese was eaten! Thanks to Bence & Monika for looking after us so well as always and as you know,... More

Took the lady here for her birthday meal. Lovely vibrant atmosphere, well cooked food with some intresting additions, the waygu beef was delicious and the wine is varied and well priced, a visit to cheese room is also a must. Will definitely be back with friends.

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
