As a big fan of fondue I booked to return to 409 in its current "pop up" guise as "The Lodge", with its ski chalet-style look and bare wooden boards on the walls. Very friendly staff greeted us and were most accommodating when I asked for my earl grey martini to be tweaked.... Starters were smallish but tasty (scallop carpaccio... More

I was a big fan of 409 before it suddenly closed down, but was very excited to hear a Pop secret garden was replacing it. I headed there on a Saturday night and although they have done a great job on making the space feel outdoorsy but inside, the service and menu was a huge let down. Inside was nicely... More

We're big fans of Four O Nine and we're looking forward to dining in The Secret Garden as some friends had recommended it to us. Sadly it was rather underwhelming. The service was poor and the food was mediocre. We had the Picnic which consisted of a range of small bites on a miniature picnic table. The only two dishes... More

Jimmy's pop up, The Secret Garden at 409 is a great experience. The location is novel, a discreet side door by the Clapham North pub from where you enter a pretty, serene and calm world of culinary delight. The food was superb, high quality and well presented. The gimmick of a secret garden works well, and the ambience adds to... More

Just back from a delicious feast at Jimmy's pop up secret garden @ 409. What a treat! We've been fans of 409 for years and were nervous about the change....don't worry, it's wonderful. We booked the private room for a special occasion and could not have been happier. Our guests were blown away. The concept was brilliantly executed with the... More

lovely venue, upstairs via a buzzer on a side door from the Clapham North pub. soon upstairs you feel a million miles away from the Clapham buzz and busy road. venue is lovely, charming, slightly luxurious without pretentiousness. food menu choice is varied but tight, which is a good sign. We had a sunday roast special 3 course which had... More

This is quite a hidden gem, you have to ring the buzzer to enter so it feels quite exclusive to have a booking here. On entering, our coats were politely taken which was a nice touch. The restaurant was beautiful, dimmed lights set a romantic ambiance-it's nicely dark in there, with the candles giving off a lovely glow, it is... More
