Visited at 8 o'clock on Friday night with hubbie and 2 children. Place was quiet but we were quickly made welcome. Starters were fantastic-the ravioli emiliana was the tastiest, sagiest, most delectable pasta I've had in years. Saltimbocca and chicken cacciatore similarly fabulous. Lemon tart and panna cotta were both home made and gorgeous. Excellent food, lovely owner, altogether fabulous... More

My family and I went to Il Cavaliere on mother's day, the food was absolutely incredible. Antonio is an amazing chef, we all love Italian food and have dined at many restaurants, but none have ever come close to this one. Also the staff are so friendly and hospitable, I really could not recommend Il Cavaliere more, you need to... More

We ate at this great little restaurant on Friday and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Antonio, the owner, is very friendly and is a great chef. Our meal was freshly prepared by Antonio himself and it was the best Italian food we have had for a long time. Extremely good value for money. The house wines were good too.

Wonderful hidden gem, as traditional as they come. I've eaten at most of the Italian restaurants in and around Highbury and this wins hands down. The service is superb, even if it's busy as it was on Mothers Day, the owners make a point of introducing themselves and making sure all is ok. The food is excellent, Cooked to perfection.... More

Lunch for 6, the looks from the front of the restaurant aren't amazing but it's a hidden gem. Lovely food, great service, just overall really great. Can't recommend it enough. Portion size is good, larger than a cote restaurant.

We were looking to find something specifically "Italian" as we live around the corner and this little venue lived up to all expectations. Him, Antonio managed to greet us, serve us and cook all the two course meal for us by himself to perfection. His professionalism and understanding of hospitality basically radiated through as he was coping with all. We... More

This restaurant looks unassuming from the outside but it does some of the best Italian food I've ever had. The chef Antonio cooks everything from scratch and provides a really warm welcome. We now visit this restaurant several times a month and every time the food has been absolutely delicious. It's very reasonable and there's a good wine list too.... More

Description
Il Cavaliere is now a well-known restaurant in the local area and beyond. It is popular with pre match Arsenal supporters who attend home games on a regular basis and travel from far and wide, on these occasions Il Cavaliere provides a special Match day menu (link) which includes an impressive brunch menu for the earlier kick off times. Advance bookings for home games days are recommended. The restaurant is recognised as venue to find very good quality home cooked food, at very reasonable prices and is fully licensed until 2am . The food is prepared and cooked to order (and sometimes served) by Antonio the Chef and his assistant Verona, hence the atmosphere is at most times quite relaxed and customers are not rushed, but care is taken to ensure customers are well looked after with enough of their own space in their time out. Time is taken to prepare food and consider the customer's preference; customers who come to Il Cavaliere understand this ethic and enjoy it. Il Cavaliere has a good wine list (link) and offer a variety and review of new or popular wines. Many parties and events are catered for, from birthdays, family reunions, engagements, funerals and weddings to mention a few. Catering is undertaken on site in the restaurant and on site at chosen venues, please see the catering page (link) on this website. Antonio personally project manages these events and is open to consultation. The food is sourced from quality suppliers and Antonio imports some of the local produce from his local commune in Calabria, such as Italian salami, pepperoni, peperoncini, wine and some cheeses, which he delights in sharing with the customers. We hope you will visit us and experience the 'Sapori di Mediterranei' at Il Cavaliere.
