I visited for lunch following their closure for refurbishment. I was very surprised and disappointed at the deterioration in the food and service. The service was poor, whereas previously it was brilliant. Wine was not topped up and it became embarrassing to keep requesting it as the wine bucket was 20 feet away. The menu has changed for the worst.... More

I visited the Hoxton hotel bar with a friend on the 23 December 2016 for drinks. It was busy however I have seen it much busier. We managed to get to the bar fairly quickly as there was sufficient bar staff however, I have to say that they were very selective when it came to service. For approximately 15 minutes... More

There were six of us for lunch. We had salmon, huge burgers, great fries, fine lunch food, good service, comfortable atmosphere. A winner.

Tried to go here for brunch on New Year's Day . Restaurant 2/3 empty but big queue with surly and inefficient front of house meeter and greeter. We were gruffly told we could have a table for 90m only . 15m into that 90m and ,despite repeated attempts to get attention , could still not even order a drink... we... More

Me and my boyfriend has visited this restaurant various times before, however, i was recently very disappointed. The menu has changed and there are now about 4 dishes available, On our arrival, we were informed that a few dishes on the limited menu weren't available either! Very bad service. Waiters didn't have a clue what was going on and we... More

Was really impressed. something that I really liked is that there was this chef with yellow beard , santa hat and he looked like Santa. The food and service was brilliant. In fact, if you can, ask to be served by Wally. He was the best and went above and beyond for us! So many great compliments from the attendees regarding the food. Thank you for making my job (as Christmas party organiser) so easy! Great time and great fun had by all. Definitely recommend.... More

Busy, noisy and obviously popular, service quick, efficient and despite the seeming chaos all food was well-cooked and delicious. No complaints - it is exactly what it says on the box.

We had the chips and avocado to start. Really good; the avocado had a subtle hint of chilli. Popcorn shrimp also very good. We both had burgers for the main. Tasty and substantial, which unfortunately meant we couldn't have dessert! We would definitely go back. We had a great host too. Agon was helpful, friendly and funny. We'll be back

Dear Julie M Please accept my apologies for the number of occasions you were made to wait whilst visiting our restaurant; in particular the 25 minutes before anyone even offered you a drink and 45 minutes pause for the 'cold nondescript' food. I can assure you that we always endeavour to see our customers within 3 minutes of seating and... More

Staying in Shoreditch

Neighbourhood Profile
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighbourhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbour can result in fascinating outcomes.
