Went for a Monday lunch and opted for the 2 courses for £15 deal. It's really good value; the courses are big and really well cooked. Fish & Chips was probably one of the best I've had in the UK, which is a bit sacrilegious...More

Went with a largish group for a Sunday lunch and was looking forward to it having heard pretty good things and having gone with a friend who knows a good gastropub when he sees it. We were all pretty disappointed. Service was achingly slow and...More

On a quiet Easter Saturday we were looking for somewhere to have a snack and a drink in late afternoon and stumbled across this place. The decor is rustic, the staff friendly and attentive, the choice of craft ales substantial and the bar snacks were...More

Came here with friends for a Sunday lunch. The food was nice, but for eighteen pounds for a roast the portions were small and the meat was fatty. The waitress bought over two tiny jugs of gravy which was not enough for 6 people and...More

I went to the above pub/restaurant with my girlfriend after I had tried to find us somewhere quiet, had a good Sunday lunch and was easy to find. The above place ticks all the boxes, the food was excellent (both taste, texture, layout and plenty),...More

We were warned that there was party in the dining space upstairs so we are in the bar where some lads were loud. Food was great with attention to quality and service attentive. Pork polenta chips fennel salad for me. Pub dining at its best

Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site
of an ancient meat market which remains in operation
today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally
renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and
some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a
focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough
time wondering through the area's maze of streets and
you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky

From the people who brought you award-winning pub The Culpeper in Spitalfields, The Green is a modern British pub in Clerkenwell serving British and European dishes made with a love of seasonal quality ingredients. Situated just off Clerkenwell Green, on a south-west facing corner, our airy 1st floor dining room benefits from maximum sunlight with its ceiling-high windows. We are comfortably seating up to 40 guests and the space is ideal for long lunches or relaxed evening dining. The English Bistro style menu has a selection of British classics and European favourites, all designed to bring people round the table and enjoy the occasion. Working closely with the seasons, we are constantly trying to source great products and show them in the way they can shine best, whilst being sympathetic to their region of origin. We have a changing selection of cask ales and draft beers from local breweries and a carefully selected list of 35 low-intervention wines focusing on small producers whose ethos is in line with our own of simple genuine quality and who we are proud to support. Smaller groups are able to order from the a la carte menu, whilst larger groups would dine from a menu jointly developed with our Head Chef.
