We came here for lunch a couple of time, burgers are OK but the garlic chips are amazing, I recommend. It is a rather small pub so you will need to book in advance. The decor is a bit outdated and the chairs are a bit old and uncomfortable ( not a pair of them in the whole pub) but... More

A large group of us enjoyed a boozy Saturday lunch here. The food was really top notch pub food, the croquettes were to die for. Cocktails were well executed. Loved the cosy on-trend decor. Friendly staff and great vibes.

Excellent service, as I would expect having visited their sister pub, the Culpepper, and fantastic food...we didn't want to leave.

Great space, great food and lovely staff. Welsh rarebit and cauliflower croquettes were amazing, followed by delicious mains. Will definitely be back!

We booked a table at the Green as we're big fans of its sister pub, the Culpeper, and wanted to see how it compared. We were delighted to find that the Green has adopted the same excellent food, wine list and friendly, helpful service as its big sister. The cauliflower cheese croquettes were particularly delicious, and reason alone for another... More

Nice pub. Nothing to complain about. Just a short visit, but would return if near by. Outside tables means you can watch the world go by (and smokers are not excluded).

I had never visited this pub before but then I heard that the kitchen was being taken over by the guys behind the Culpeper on Commercial Road in East London. I was intrigued and found myself wanted a Sunday Roast but wanted to try somewhere new. I was slightly nervous as no one likes a bad roast and having had... More

We had few drinks before heading off to dinner... the pub has a collection of organic wines that are not found elsewhere. Even the beers and ales are different from any ordinary pub. Nice place to chill and the staff is absolutely lovely! Will go again for sure!

The Green has recently been taken over by the team behind Culpeper in Commercial Street E1. Apparently the plan is to take over the roof space for a cocktail bar in which case they've probably chosen the wrong time of year to open this. Meanwhile a kitchen serves food from a short menu chalked upon a blackboard next to the... More

Superb food upstairs which we had to ourselves for our work xmas party. Waiters v attentive and the food was honestly very very good, especially given there were 30 of us! Best fruit crumble I've ever had. I believe it's recently changed hands and i wouldn't hesitate to return. It was rammed downstairs when we finished the meal but luckily... More

From the people who brought you award-winning pub The Culpeper in Spitalfields, The Green is a modern British pub in Clerkenwell serving British and European dishes made with a love of seasonal quality ingredients.

Situated just off Clerkenwell Green, on a south-west facing corner, our airy 1st floor dining room benefits from maximum sunlight with its ceiling-high windows. We are comfortably seating up to 40 guests and the space is ideal for long lunches or relaxed evening dining.

The English Bistro style menu has a selection of British classics and European favourites, all designed to bring people round the table and enjoy the occasion. Working closely with the seasons, we are constantly trying to source great products and show them in the way they can shine best, whilst being sympathetic to their region of origin.

We have a changing selection of cask ales and draft beers from local breweries and a carefully selected list of 35 low-intervention wines focusing on small producers whose ethos is in line with our own of simple genuine quality and who we are proud to support.

Smaller groups are able to order from the a la carte menu, whilst larger groups would dine from a menu jointly developed with our Head Chef.

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighbourhood Profile
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
