What a fantastic place. The food is the freshest I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. The owner comes out to meet and greet the customers and recommends dishes. Every time we have been we have had nothing but perfect food and perfect service. This is the only place around to eat in my opinion. Well done to the... More

I absolutely love this place for two reasons: the food and the atmosphere. I always insist on having the lamb kleftiko, it's one of my favourite dishes and every time I go to a Greek restaurant I have it. It is so good there, if you are familiar with this dish you know the paroxysms of pleasure that are induced... More

I have lived near to this restaurant for several years and I pop in for dinner most weeks with friends, family and business colleagues. I have never been disappointed, nor have the people who have been with me. Pantelis and his team work hard to prepare a wonderful selection of authentic Greek Cypriot dishes with portion-sizes large enough to challenge... More

A very bad experience and awful customer service. The waiters/owners got creative with the bill and we were asked to pay an extortionate amount of money for very little food and "complimentary" meze which was disproportionately priced and they tried to bully us when we made inquiries. I would not recommend this place to anyone

We visited the Aphrodite Taverne for lunch and were hoping to get decent Cypriot food. It was not just decent , it was super delicious. Let me start that first we were greeted by a very friendly waiter who let us choose the table since the place was not busy. Afterwards he brought to us the menu and some starters... More

Although our table was very close to the kitchen the food wasn't as hot as it should be. Mushy battery chicken kebabs, £4 for water in a plastic bottle. 'Complimentary' meze with lukewarm pitta bread, olives and tired haricot beans (which I felt might be re - presented to other diners when we didn't finish them.)

Perhaps not the cheapest Greek restaurant we have visited, but well worth it. The welcome was excellent and we were served unexpected complimentary hors d'ouvres. The food was perfect and authentically Greek. This is not a large establishment and we ate early. It did fill up, so anyone wanting to eat later would be well advised to book. My wife... More

I was there with my daughter and her boyfriend. they live in London and know this restaurant, so I already had their positive comments. Reality exceeded my expectations: excellent food and wine, good service, hearty people. Listen to their suggestions, you won't be disappointed. We ate a lot, several types of mazes, main course and a selection of baklavà, we... More

This is always our first dinner whenever we go to London. Have been going for years. the owner is such a charming gentleman and a fabulous cook. The food didn't stop from the olives at the beginning to the candy at the end. All fresh and served with such lavish excitement.

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
