We dine here as a family on a regular basis, have never had a poor meal. The stilton sauce is fantastic, as are the steaks!!

We stopped off here last week and it was very good. The food was presentable and tasted great with good portion sizes. The staff were espcially friendly so they recived some tips from us although we did use up a lot of their vinegar packets! The desserts were also great and really made for an overall enjoyable night. To improve,... More

I've walked past this pub every day for a year and it turns out it's a fantastic little place with good beer, good food and great staff! Also the desserts are massive...

After peering in the Peackock while waiting at the lights and thinking 'That looks nice' several times, the oppertunity arose. Greeted by a friendly smile we were soon seated and browsing the extensive menus. The peacock is a very nice place to be. We sat under the large clock. A look at the specials board was essential too. Our food... More

Recommended to us by our B&B host. Evening meal for 4, we were early 6pm otherwise I suspect you would need to book. Popular pub with small restaurant to the side. Staff very helpful and friendly. Reasonable prices and fair selection on the menu. Only reason for making good not excellent was the banging of the coffee machine and the... More

Had a fantastic meal at this pub. They managed to get us in at last minute & were very accommodating. It took a while for us to get our meal but due to the fact the restaurant was extremely busy & all food was cooked fresh, the wait was worth it when the meal arrived. All staff were extremely helpful... More

First time to the peacock in a while, not sure whether the kitchen staff/chef has changed, but to be honest it's not as good as it used to be. My gammon, chips, peas and onion rings was okay, the gammon was a little dry. My husband had lasagne and unfortunately it was more pasta than bolognese sauce/meat. It's a shame... More

We booked as two couples for evening meal and first of all it's difficult to find a door that is open, there is no direction signs as far as we could see to find our way to get in. We were welcomed to the restaurant by very happy and helpful staff and we were soon installed at a table very... More

We've been going here for many years and we've just had our worst meal ever. I could forgive the lumpy potatoes or the bland carrots and cabbage or the - too many - peas or the soft roast potatoes or the tasteless roast beef; but I cannot forgive the thick gloopy gravy that the meal was submerged beneath. It was... More
