After hearing and reading good reviews, we decided to visit for lunch to celebrate my son's birthday. Nice little place, but some of the chairs are dirty. Not alot of choice on the menu and rather overpriced for what you get. My daughter ordered the special of burger with pulled pork. £14.50. The food was cold, although she ate most... More

Close to the river, popular with locals, they had a good range of beers on and a tasty selection of food. I'd happily visit again.

First time at the horse and groom, I was impressed, the pub had a cosy feeling to it, and good vibe around the restaurant. First ordered drinks at the bar and bar man was friendly and professional, after been seated which was prompt the menu had a good selection, the specials board needed a little deciphering. There was a good... More

My partner and I booked a table for Sunday lunch, on our arrival we noticed immediately how unkept the pub was, hence the empty dirty glasses left all across the bar. We were waiting to be greeted which on a previous visit, were immediately greeted with a smile at least. The staff all looked miserable and their body language said... More

It is the first time I've been here since it reopened and was impressed with the welcoming interior. The menu was enticing with some specials on offer too. The staff were friendly and table service is a welcome change from having to order at the bar. Food was great, I would recommend the pie! Food is available all day so... More

Short and sweet review, very good gastropub food in a very nice traditionally styled pub, good atmosphere and good beer, handy car park just behind it too.

We visited on Monday night, the quiz night. I dined on the pie of the day which was served on mashed potato although chips are an option, with a rich gravy. I presume that the pies are made on the premises and are served as a main course for £10.95. I enjoyed the "Hooky Gold" real ale served in a... More

Four of us were booked in for Sunday lunch. The service, whilst very friendly was unbearably slow. Three of us had a beer, one a glass of wine, two had a pork Sunday roast and two had a beef roast. We all had coffee, one had a brandy and one had the cheese board for pud. The total bill came... More

Visited today for the Sunday lunch we'd longed for. Our table was booked for 1230, we arrived a few minutes early and were seated promptly, however, this is where the quick service ended. After being sat for circa 20 minutes, we ordered our own drinks from the bar and collected the menus we were waiting for. After ordering food we... More

Simple, honest and welcoming. Here at the Horse & Groom we pride ourselves on our great selection of real ales, home cooked food and welcoming staff. Located at the end of the Brayford Wharf with a spacious car park and large garden, it's everything we believe a real pub should be.
